Aunt bugs cabin

We stayed for a week for our honeymoon, overall a beautiful place out in the woods very peaceful very clean. No issues getting there or checking in very smooth, drive way is steep but to be expected in the mountains. Great place to stay would stay again!

Cabin in the woods

Overall it was a very nice place to stay. There were some minor things that need repairing which we told them before we left. The placed seemed pretty clean. If you come make sure to bring your own hand soap, dish soap. We did see a bear walking down the street right in front of the property one morning. Which was pretty cool.

Tucked away and relaxed

Saw a bear as soon as we pulled in! Lots of owls and other wildlife to enjoy. Driveway is a little scary to look at, but managable. The cabin had all the necessary items needed to rough it in style. Some of them could use updated, but still functioned just fine. Plenty of space for 3 adults and 3 kids.

Has potential.

The house itself is beautiful, and back in nature enough to have black bears occasionally roaming the neighborhood. Recommendations for renters, bring your own cookware if you prefer to cook for yourself, & bring a vehicle capable of climbing hills. Ran into some issues with a lack of communication from the property managers. They did not disclose that there would be construction 40 feet from the house, nor did they inform us that they were sending a repairman to the house during our stay. The construction should be completed within a couple months, but it would have been nice to know before we spent the money.

Fall 2018 Cabin Rental

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the cabin was below average. When you pay a premium price for a weekend cabin rental there are expectations about the condition of the cabin and this cabin did not meet those expectations. The cabin was in need of several minor repairs: kitchen sink faucet drips, most window blinds were broken, electric fireplace did not work, not enough batteries for all remotes, master bathroom drain was semi clogged, furniture was minimal, and the kitchen wasn't stocked well with necessary items.

Nasty and damaged

every single toilet is stained pee brown. The Toilet in the master bath had a broke chain that I had to temporarily fix myself until maintenance came. Almost every blinds were, cracked, bent, or broke off. The pool table was left with cue sticks that had no tip on the end and water was on the table when we arrived. the door to the out side hot tub, the handle doesn't turn all the way so it almost locks you out. If these issues are fixed, it can be a pretty cabin. Also note the master bathroom is significantly smaller than the guest bathroom down stairs. Its a pet friendly cabin, but not a good area to take the dogs to potty. Also, you have to pay a fee to allow the dogs to stay and another fee if the dog sheds. Lastly, you are about 15 minutes from the main road and its at times very steep hills that some cars might not make. Take that into consideration too.

Great Location and Relaxing Environment

This cabin was one of the better ones that we’ve stayed at—for reference it was our third cabin rental and first with Aunt Bugs. To keep it brief, here’s a list of the pros and cons: Pros • Location is right in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and less than 15 minutes from the main roads. • The neighborhood is secluded and really beautiful. The neighboring cabins are far enough that you feel like you’re still in nature by yourself. •The floor plan of the cabin is spacious and flows well. All appliances and electronics worked while we were there. •Their upstairs bedroom is beautiful and has a nice deck with rocking chairs. The cabin actually has three tubs in total because the master has both a shower/tub and soaker. Cons •There is a Carpentar bee issue. It looks like they’ve been trying to treat it, but there were several bees that would hang out by the front door. Since that was the only way to enter and exit, it made it really difficult at times. My wife is really allergic to bees, so we were extra cautious. •The driveway is one of the steepest driveways I’ve experienced in this area. I learned that backing in and staying closer to the top is best. There is a utility lid that isn’t seated properly which is also not great for your undercarriage. If you are bringing multiple vehicles, it could be an uncomfortable parking situation. Also, the mountain views aren’t that good. The surrounding trees are too tall to see mountains on the horizon. •There was a lot of wear to the overall cabin. Downstairs wasn’t as bad, but several of the blinds are damaged and the floors are scratched. Aesthetically it doesn’t bother me, but because we brought dogs, I was nervous that our pets would get blamed. But the owners don’t seem to mind, so this really isn’t a con. Bottom line: Book it if you’re ready for a relaxing vacation.

Mountain Paradise, No Joke

Lovely quiet rental property high up in the smokey mountains. Very clean and they had a packet of laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, just enough dishes, utensils, and cooking pans. I only wish we had a vacuum so we could have cleaned up a little more before we left.

Our Spring Break Stay

The cabin setup was great for our fam. Our 3 kiddos comfortably took over the upstairs and we were able to sleep on the bottom. We enjoyed the hot tub after our long hikes. The customer service was also great, and the ladies were very kind and helpful. That being said, there are some updates needed (broken blinds, missing curtains, leaky faucets), and there were many bees taking over the outside of the cabin as well as what seemed to be termites both on the outside and inside as well. Assuming those issues are taken care of, I see it being a fine place for a family of 5 to stay.

Excellent if you are not a flat lander.

Every thing was lovely I was just unprepared for the road up the mountain. Be aware if you are not experienced with mountain driving this was difficult for a flat lander like me. The driveway was very steep as well. Be sure to get there before dark when finding it for the first time too.

Sweet, modest cabin w/ private hot tub

Sweet cabin tucked away in the smoky mountains! The cabin was beautiful with amenities we were looking for: pet friendly, hot tub, pool table and fireplace! Plumbing was outdated/ drippy faucets if not turned completely in the right direction and the downstairs bathroom had some draining issues, the sink/tub would drain but very slowly. Overall we enjoyed our stay, the neighborhood was quiet (except for at night when squirrels and acorns were all over the place).
