He was very patient and especially helpful to our multiple queries and tried his best to help. We were very grateful for his sincerity in wanting to help. "easy check in despite limited English of staff. we arrived early in the morning and room was not ready. staff was able to lock our luggage and provided us with a map of the local area. there are some trails to the local shrine. room was great! extremely clean and cosy. outdoor bath and shower were great. checked out the public bath as well which was very clean and well maintained. "The room was clean and large. The food was excellent and the monks were friendly and helpful. The grounds and facility was beautiful. We were blessed with a fresh snowfall to make it even more beautiful. Keep in mind if you go in the winter, even though your room is toasty warm, the halls are not. So any walking to dinner, a ceremony, THE BATHROOM, is all in freezing temperatures and I never got hot water from the tap to wash my hands with. "

We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. The onsens were also wonderful. A room here with breakfast and dinner included is an excellent value."
