Begin your day with a stroll along the beach and dive into the Bali Sea to cool off. If you are a surfer, rent a board from a surf school. The surf is better at Kuta, but Seminyak Beach is less crowded. Afterward, pamper yourself with a spa treatment, reflexology or Balinese massage. For something special, ask for a “Boreh” you’ll be wrapped in a cloth and then covered in a warm, healing balm made from roots, herbs and spices. Finally you’ll soak in a warm flower bath to rinse it all off.

Seminyak village is full of chic stores and luxurious resorts and is known as a center for the arts. Go shopping or visit a gallery and see the works of Chusin Setiadikara, the Indonesian master of realism, or Wianta and Ugo Untoro.

While Seminyak Beach is a quieter option to Kuta Beach, you’ll still find evening entertainment, with many hotel bars and clubs within a short walk. Enjoy a live performance, sip a cocktail, go dancing or dip in a poolside bar.

Seminyak Beach is 1.6 miles (3 kilometers) north of Legian Beach and a 30-minute drive from Denpasar Airport. It is just a 15-minute drive from Kuta if the traffic is light. Drive along the road of Jalan Sunset for the best chance of getting there quickly. Stay in a villa on the beach, a spa resort or a high-end hotel. This idyllic and up-market part of Bali is for those who travel in style and comfort, so the prices are higher than in most Indonesian vacation resorts.

This was my second time at Honai. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. Nopey and Sherlly were a delight to interact with and the service in the restaurant was top notch. The grounds are a serene place to relax and enjoy nature and the yoga shala is a great place to practice. My room was amazing. A spacious oasis overlooking the pool. I could see the sun come up from my room each morning. I had a wonderful stay at Honai and will definitely come back again.

The resort was very clean and well maintained. A serene environment. Beautiful room and private peaceful pool. The sounds of the waterfalls and birds truly kept me grounded. The staff was exceptional from even before I arrived communication was so great. They were beyond kind and accommodating. I cannot wait to return.
