「The good: My friends & I are from the US and had never been to Amsterdam. My sister (who has lived in the area for 2yrs) suggested a houseboat would be a fun adventure. And she was right! It was more expensive than a hotel, but it had plenty of space for the 3 of us (with room to spare - we could have easily fit 2-3 more people) and it offered a safe, quiet, and comfortable retreat after each day of SO many steps (and sometimes rain). 「This is not your run of the mill accommodation. If you’re looking for something different from hotels in a great location, this is it. I think of all the places I’ve rented over the years all over the world, this is in my top 3. The owner Margriet is very friendly and helpful. 「We certainly enjoyed our stay at the houseboat. Monnickendam is a cute little town with a nice market, shops and restaurants. Just a 10 minutes walk to the bus stop into Amsterdam - very convenient. On the houseboat you find everything you need. Perfect spot in the evening is on the rooftop. Our host provided us with a very warm welcome. Communication was easy and very pleasant. Getting used to the dry toilet is a little challenge - there are „normal“ toilets in the main building.」

「Beautiful houseboat in the charming village of Monnickedam. Clean and confortable for a family of 4 - it has everything we needed. Roof deck not pictured to enjoy the sunsets, and a outside table in the front. Close to town, it's an easy walk to restaurants and maybe 20 mins to the grocery store. Easy communication with the host. One small detail, the location in the marina is different than the picture, the houseboat has close neighbourghs but it wasn't a problem. We had a great time!」

The sauna was perfect since the weather was a little chill but exactly what you’d expect for the end of December. The host was very friendly and helpful. It was an amazing experience!」

The boat has a prime location with the feel of full immersion into daily Dutch life, super quiet nights with close proximity to all of the activity in the city center. "部屋が綺麗で広く、過ごしやすかったです。窓から街並みも見えて楽しめました。また、部屋にクッキーとコーヒーメーカーがあり、毎日補充もしてくれました。パジャマを持っていくのを忘れてしまっていたのですが、バスローブがあったので、助かりました。夏だったので外の明るい時間が長いですが、カーテンの遮光がしっかりしていたので、寝る時は真っ暗な部屋で寝ることもできました。大変満足です。"
