Sometimes when we stop planning for things to happen, surprises and joys come our way in more way than one! On this day in Sasebo, an accidental stop, I ended up visiting a national park, an amazing aquarium and had the best dolphin shots in recent years! So many wonders... relax and simply enjoy!
Top of 99 Islands Lookout, overlooking the Kujukushima Islands of Sakai National Park. This is where the beginning scenes of the movie "The Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise was filmed. Its about a 15 minute drive from Sasebo or about 45 minute-1 hour walk. It's a perfect destination to take in the sunset.

Very smart and comfortable accommodation with excellent facilities inc washing machine with a fast setting. Lots of places to eat in the area but you cannot beat the little cafe just 20m away on the same side of the street for great tasting food and excellent value.

モダンで清潔なホテルでしたが、駅からのアクセスが不便でした。夜になるとホテルの周りは暗くて歩ける感じではないです。コンビニもレストランもありません。車利用ならば問題は、ないと思います。

I lived in Sasebo many years ago. It is a beautiful and interesting small city, located near many of Kyushu's most visited sites including Huis Ten Bosch theme park, Nagasaki and several pottery producing mills.
