We enjoyed our stay here and the location of the hotel is great. However, it really depends what room you get. We requested a room with two beds and got one king size bed at first in a moldy smelling and very old looking room, worst I have ever seen, like in a very run-down motel. We went to complain and a nice receptionist gave us the room we requested - two beds and much better room, clean and updated. However, the AC was set to 66 F and there was no way to turn it up. The remote was missing and it took another trip to the reception to get that sorted out. The hotel charges extra $30 per day - not sure why. They say water is included - we got a small bottle each at the beginning of the 5 day stay and that was it. The information the hotel provides is misleading. One has to request a room service for cleaning but regular towels are changed daily. However getting clean beach towels or bathroom floor towel was sometimes a problem. The kitchen has some dishes but nothing to clean them with. So what are we paying $30 per day for? The hotel bar is very overpriced for the quality of the drinks (we had one good drink and one not so good one). I probably wouldn’t come back.

From the moment I entered the room, there was a strong bad smell and the room felt wet and damp, which made me feel sick and uncomfortable. Everything appeared dirty and not properly cleaned, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel stay.

My stay was amazing ! Only downfall was I wish they gave me a head up about their pool not being open earlier than the day of my arrival. Aside from that perfect stay.

I wasn't aware there was construction happening. The pool was closed. You could hear construction on the beach and in our room. The room needs a lot of repairs. The fridge door hits the trim and doesn't always shut, the balcony door was very hard to open it needs to be adjusted, the sink faucet was wobbly, a lot of little thngs could be improved. There were restaurants near by and the location was pretty convenient.

The front desk was excellent and Courteous. Our room was not what we had requested. We had double beds when we requested and paid for a king Suite with a sofa Bed. 3 days we were woken up at 7-8am by Pool Construction and later on the day we had to kill a large bug in the room. Albeit, the room was clean but when I asked for housekeeping service it was never provided just new towels. The beds were not changed and the floors were not swept or mopped. My hair is falling out due to treatment and this was supposed to be a relaxing trip. The garage was very difficult to find parking and my boyfriend would have me wait for him till he parked and would come get me. I remember coking to this hotel as a child and wanted the memories back with my dad and the view I received was an empty pool and loud construction. The beach was close but if you stayed later and the gate was closed it would be an extremely far walk to return to the hotel. The breakfast was decent downstairs and were very friendly. Not a large selection but got to the point.

Glad you had a great stay! This is a hotel, and the staff is always friendly. What I really like about this place is the convenient access to Isla Verde Beach, with many restaurants within walking distance. The hotel is also very close to the airport, which makes traveling easy. I’ve stayed here multiple times, and this time the bar in the main lobby was open, which was a nice bonus. The only downsides are that some rooms could use an update, and parking can be a bit challenging if you drive an SUV, as the driveway is very narrow.

Room was nice & clean. The staff were courteous and professional. It would be nice if there were more option for breakfast. In this day, many people don't eat pork. Need to habe more options.Air conditioner was great! The view was beautiful. I wish the pool was in working condition.

Not as advertised. The room smelled bad. Rusty balcony railing that was not stable and unsafe for kids. The front desk told us the pictures used are for the “owners side” not where others stay. Would not stay here again. Beach is beautiful but do not sit on the sand without bug spray. Started second part of our trip itchy with bites all over from the sand mites!

horrible room, first one looked nothing like the picture, mold, dirty stuff all around. second room had ants everywhere, even the bed. first night housekeeping only gave us towels didn’t change sheets, throw away trash nothing. people were nice but never again, will i be staying. do not recommend.

This was our second time staying at the ESJ Towers. The first visit was amazing, the second even better. The easy access to the beach, friendly staff, and central location to all the San Juan area has to offer makes this an amazing place to stay. The property is under going renovations that will only make the property more inviting for future visits.

My family and I were in Puerto Rico for a funeral and decided to stay at the ESJ for a few days. Upon arrival, we were given a room with no hot water. A laminated sheet in the room indicated to dial “0” for assistance yet there was no phone in the room. The hotel main line was called numerous times but no response. Expedia was contacted and they too were unsuccessful in reaching them to request a refund on my behalf. I contacted them via the Expedia site only to receive a message that someone would look into it. Days later after I went to the office did they send someone to check the problem. The individual claimed to have fixed the issue yet we came back and no hot water at all. The day before check out we were out and received a call asking for permission to enter the room to check for a “leak”and they could not do so with the do not disturb sign on the door. I refused and told them to wait until I got back. No one ever went back to check for the leak and upon check out the front desk staff acted surprised and indicated the hot water issue would have to be looked into after check out. I’m sure I’m not the only guest who had this issue and they should not have given me that room if they know something was not right. They didn’t even try to move my room to accommodate for the inconvenience.

I arrived with my sister after a long travel day to attend a funeral. Checking time is after 4 PM. The room assigned to us looked very worn out with the few electrical outlets not working, so we could not charge our phones. The night lamps next to bed were not working either. It took a while before we were assigned another room where electrical outlets and lamps were working. The next thing was that we only got one little soap bar for washing hands and bathing for two people. There were also no wash cloths, and only one hand towel. Calling the front desk was useless as the phone was busy all the time. The next day at the front desk we explained we needed more soap and washcloths plus soap and sponge to wash our coffee mugs. We also requested more coffee if possible. Right there and then we got 3 soaps, and the sponge and soap to wash the coffee mugs. We were told they were low on washcloths and that they (the hotel) was going through some changes. Also, it is their policy not to clean rooms every day, just every four days, exactly the days we were staying there.I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. It was the biggest nightmare and although the building is an older building they do not keep up with making it nicer and more user friendly as far as plumbing and electrical. I will never go back.
