"I booked this for my parents who were visiting me as I live in Saltburn. I normally eat and drink in the

alot and have always had a good experience so it pains me to write this but the room cost me alot of money and they had alot of issues and left early to go home to bed. Firstly the hotel has been undergoing major renovations for some time which they are very open about but it does give the place a building site feel which isnt welcoming. "We had a really lovely stay at the Ellerby, the staff were the friendliest that I've ever met in a hotel. They can't do enough for you, always with a smile and a chat. Food was great too, Everywhere was spotlessly clean, and it was extremely dog friendly, both our dogs had a sausage each for breakfast every day! Hotel isn't 5 star luxury, but it was certainly one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. We loved it and can highly recommend."

"This Hotel could do with a serious upgrade. We would not have stayed longer in the room we had if it had been for more than one night. When we arrived and saw the view it was great, but then it went downhill. The en suite was not good at all, and the dinning room more like a canteen. After 17 days away staying at 12 different places, this was most disappointing. I will say no more."

Loads of kitchen equipment, cutlery, crockery etc. The only thing that could be improved is the communication from the management company before hand, we had a simple question about room set up and they just kept sending me the same information that was on the webpage and wasn't answering our question."
