This was our first time staying at a property like this. It was self check-in. The check-in details were sent via Hotels.com message. Unfortunately there is no data service in the area. Luckily we had someone else also checking-in at the sametime as us so they could share the check-in procedure with us along with wifi password which let us see the message sent to us via hotels.com.
At the time of check-in we didn't like it as much due to self check-in and not being able to access the instructions for check-in but as we stayed, it was a very unique and great experience. Breakfast was great. Staff also let us stay a little longer in the dinning area as had to take a work meeting after the 11am check-out time.
Its a very different experience (great) than staying at typical hotels. Would definitely recommend others staying here.

Our room was spotless, we had a lovely view of the harbour. We really enjoyed breakfast & the service from Darlene was excellent & friendly. The view from the dining room & bar was incredible, straight out to the harbour. This is our favourite place to stay in Victoria. Easy walking to Fishermans Wharf (3 minutes) & to the Legislature (10 minutes) and all around the harbour front from there. This is a 10/10 location and overall super place to stay!
