A newly built cosy shepherd's hut located in a cottage garden in Haxton SP4 9PY. Situated under tall trees, overlooking a meadow. Secluded private garden with bistro table, outside seating and easy parking.
Fully insulated with traditional sheep's wool and modern eco-friendly methods. Underfloor heating so suitable year round. Mini kitchen - multi-function microwave, plug-in hob, fridge, flushing toilet, shower, double bed, tv with Freeview, Wifi. Simple hamper-style breakfast. BBQ and Fire Bowl available.
Haxton is a small rural village on Salisbury Plain. The hut is situated in a corner of our garden facing away from the house towards the field at the back. Its totally self contained and guests can come and go as they please. Whilst using the hut garden guests cannot be seen from the house. The hut sleeps two people in a standard double bed.
Please note that access to the hut is via two steps so not suitable for those who find climbing steps difficult. Cows released into the field can be very friendly and congregate near the fence! There is a footpath which runs across the centre of the field from the farm to the church, used by local dog walkers.
Pets: happy to have one small very well behaved dog at the hut - cocker spaniel size or smaller. Or maybe two very small dogs.
Sadly not suitable for larger or long haired breeds. Most of the soft furnishings at the hut are white or dry clean only so dogs are not allowed on the bed or sofa. Sadly not suitable for puppies either. Please do message me - always happy to consider exceptions to this rule! Treats and dog towels provided. We have three cats so please keep your dog under control. One cat especially frequents the hut on a regular basis. Please note that a dog should never be left in the hut alone.
The kitchen has a multifunction microwave, separate toaster and portable plug in double hob. Workspace is limited so I can provide an extension lead should you wish to use the hob outside in fine weather.
A simple breakfast is provided: tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fresh milk. Sugar free muesli and a granola, crumpets or bread to toast, butter and jam. I am very happy to customise this with advance notice. For guests staying two nights or more a bottle of Prosecco will be in the hut to welcome you!
There is a Fire Bowl available in dry weather. There may be occasions when I am unable to get logs but I will always try to provide wood and kindling for one use during your stay. If you would like to use it more often please bring some logs with you if you can.
