I liked Brussels better than all expectations. The little alleys around the Grand Place, the old buildings and then again the new ones creating a funny contrast, and the shopping options were enough to convince me to return one day.

The architecture in Brussels is diverse, and spans from the medieval constructions on the Grand Place to the postmodern buildings of the EU institutions. Main attractions include the Grand Place, since 1998 a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with the Gothic town hall in the old centre, the St. Michael and Gudula Cathedral and the Royal Palace of Laeken with its large greenhouses. Another famous landmark is the Royal Palace.

Great hotel in a lively area. Staff allowed me to check in early and were very friendly. Space heater installed in the bathroom is great for after shower on those cold Brussels mornings.
