"Host was very responsive, property was very comfy and remarkably equipped for our family stay. We hope to be back in November and possibly April of next year! Thank you for such a seamless experience. One suggestion, a monthly or bi-monthly pest treatment for the beetles would be a well spent effort. But it didn’t stop us from enjoying the home. We’re from here and are used to it."

"A perfect property to experience the rawness of the island of Hawai’i. The home has modern updates to the kitchen and bathrooms but still keeps the authentic original plantation style build on the nature landscape of lava tubes and natural springs. The house is situated off the main drag through Hilo across from some cool black rock and black sand beaches. Expect to see turtles and beautiful coastal landscape you can only find on this particular island. With that, it’s a local friendly spot that can get noisy from cultural street burnouts and loud music. But it usually always goes quiet by 9:00. The listing is as advertised and you’ll be surrounded by real nature. Nature can be loud at night and bugs can be a problem at times but it’s a great way to explore this island and the town of Hilo. We will be back."

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at Maunaloa Shores. The facility has what you need - including a nice and clean pool. It is a great location, as well, right next to Carlsmith Beach. We ended up spending more time at Onekahakaha Beach (1 mile away) because it was great for young kids. The unit has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The unit was impeccably clean, too."

"This is the second time I've stayed here, and highly recommend it for exploring Hilo. It is clean, light, bright, and stocked very well (even snorkel equipment, ice chests and beach chairs!). It overlook one of the sweetest lagoon and snorkel spots on the island, so you can take your morniong and evening swim. Check in and out are easy and the host is very responsive. Mahalo!"

"Our family had a wonderful stay in Hilo. The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. There was plenty of space for everyone, and the property provided a relaxing and peaceful setting for our time on the Big Island.The kitchen was well-equipped and the location was convenient for exploring Hilo and the surrounding areas. Everything we needed for a comfortable family vacation was available, and the check-in and check-out process was smooth and straightforward.Because the property is located across from a beach park, there was some road and neighborhood activity noise at times. However, we visited over Memorial Day weekend, so the area was understandably busier than usual. The convenience of being so close to the ocean and park amenities was a definite plus.We made many great memories during our stay and would recommend this property to families looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay while visiting Hilo.Mahalo,Kayla Kossi"
