Grounds were maintained meticulously, and it was very enjoyable to walk around buildings. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and attended to our needs, so that we could enjoy our stay to the max. This is our 4th stay at the Riu Palace Bavaro, and would highly recommend it, especially for couples.

Everything was great, staff were all amazing, food was ok, it felt like it was not fresh all the time, somethings were fresh. Alcohol was ok, cheap stuff but it still enough to get you satisfied. Beach area was nice but the sea in that area is brown. 10/10 for the staff. 9/0 for the hotel.

The hotel and grounds could not be better. Only problem was the sargasm we stayed in a beach resort that every day we would have to leave to have a nice beach. And frustrating to see the hotel next foor with there trucks and machines eliminating the sagasm seaweed so that there guest can enjoy the beach. But i do have to say service and quality of food was amazing

We’re a family of 6 with 4 kids , one with special needs. The “fun” started right from the beginning when they put us on the second floor room, without an elevator, knowing we have child in a wheelchair. Regardless of me sending them an email long before arrival, they told us that there’s nothing they can do. Most stuff doesn’t speak English at all. Kids club is non existent, we tried multiple times but it’s always closed. I would give them zero stars but food was good and some workers were nice.

We had the best time, we were a group of 8 (2 kids). The food is by far the best we ever had!! There are pools EVERY WHERE! For all age types. The water park is the perfect size for all age groups. The staff is amazing! Trust us if you’re kind and learn a few basic Spanish greeting words they will go above and beyond. Doesn’t take much to be kind to others. They have cold beer on deck at all times, of course other drinks as well but beer on vacation is important! The beach is nice and clean except for some seaweed but the resort has no control of that. The nightly shows is a nice touch when you want to relax and listen to music. A little hard to navigate at night is my only complaint, the signs where to go aren’t visible or bright enough but I extra steps in. I recommend for large groups of all ages. They have something for everyone!!

This was my second time at a RIU and it did not live up to the expectations. The buffet food was horrible, the fruits were rotten, drinks had no taste and were always warm/melted. The restaurant food was average, however the lines were long, sometimes 2+ hours, and the staff was incredibly rude. Even after being sat, the wait for your food was minimum an hour. In general the staff was not welcoming especially to non-Spanish speaking individuals. The pools were great, and there was a lot of space to sit. The beach was ok, not a lot of shaded areas, a bit dirty. Overall would not return to this specific RIU resort.

Staff, for the most part was terrible. I actually dreaded going to dinner due to rude, dismissive behavior of the wait staff in all restaurants. Almost every employee throughout the resort looked like they hated their job. The food was so-so.. To top this off, our room, that was quite a hike from the main building had no elevator, and we had to hike up 4 flights of stairs, multiole times a day. The pools left a terrible film in our hair and lastly, our room had a terrible smell.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay at RIU Palace Bavaro. The resort is beautiful, well maintained, and the grounds are kept immaculate. Our room was clean, comfortable, and provided everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. The food was consistently good, with plenty of variety at the restaurants and buffets. The drinks, however, were a bit inconsistent—some were excellent, while others depended on the bartender. Unfortunately, we did have a significant issue during our stay. Our daughter’s room had a faulty door that would not lock. Although the staff attempted to address the problem, they were unable to repair it that evening and could not provide her with another room until the following day. As a result, she had to spend the night in our room because her room was not secure. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled afterward. Despite being unable to use the room she had paid for that night due to a safety and security issue, the resort initially declined to reimburse her for the lost night. We felt that better customer service and a quicker resolution would have gone a long way in turning an unfortunate situation into a positive experience. Despite this issue, we enjoyed many aspects of the resort, including its beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, and good food. With improved customer service when handling guest concerns, our experience would have easily been a five-star stay.
