Point Loma Lighthouse

The hotel is quaint and definitely a "boutique". The room was nothing more than 2 beds, a wall-mounted TV, 2 very small nightstands, and a free-standing rack on which to hang a few clothes. The bathroom had no vanity, so getting ready in the morning was a challenge. There is also no central air. The room had an "air conditioner/dehumidifier" which was OK once we learned how to use it. Our room faced 6th and was VERY noisy. One morning, while drying my hair, the power went out in our room. The only things running were the hair dryer and the dehumidifier. It was very early -- I had to call the front desk to tell them (from my phone because there is no phone in the room). They responded promptly though and flipped the breaker somewhere in the hall near my room. If you are looking for a quaint place to lay your head, I'd say it's OK. If you want any kind of comfort, look elsewhere. Oh, I did appreciate the 24/7 Starbucks coffee station!

I loved the everything about the property except being blindsided with a $70 a night charge fo parking which I think is excessive and should have been made known in advance.

Honestly from the photos and everything it seemed like a bigger property and a lot more moving room but it is suffocated by the golf course. Understandable for the players and all, but you can’t walk your dogs freely, you can’t walk closer to the water, it’s very restricted where the golf course sits right in front of the hotel, and you can’t go past that golf course. Restaurant are very limited menus and food was good not bad. The pool, the courtyard, it’s all fine, the restaurants were OK, some of them labeled icons were not exactly iconic, but the one thing that stood out was the staff. The staff were really really nice, very accommodating and very very professional and great. The room was nice, it was accommodating, it was clean, no complaints, this setting is truly beautiful but our expectations for this price point were a little bit more.
