Nestled on a hilltop, with spectacular views of Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano, Pie in the Sky is truly a little piece of paradise. Experience an unforgettable holiday in one of Costa Rica’s premier travel destinations.

Accommodation: Pie in the Sky is a unique and luxurious accommodation. There are 3 separated houses that share the common areas like Swimming Pool, Jacuzzi and BBQ Deck, and it offers you the flexibility to rent each house individually or the entire complex for maximum privacy. This listing is ONLY for PIE IN THE SKY 3

- Pie in the Sky #3 is a 5 bedrooms house with same number of bathrooms and it sleeps up to 15 people. For your comfort all the bedrooms have air-conditioned, custom-made black out draperies, hotel like amenities and have access to the front terrace where the views are simple stunning.
- The large kitchen with fine wood cabinets, granite counter tops and all the appliances is perfect to cook tasty meals for large parties.
- For your enjoyment the spring fed pool and jacuzzi are just steps away from the house, and so is the BBQ Ranch with Propane Grill, tables and chairs.

- THINGS TO DO: There are lots of tours to keep you entertained for days, Volcano hikes, Zip Lines, Hanging Bridges, ATV tours, Kayak and Paddle-board tours, Rainforest and Waterfall hikes, Horseback riding, Hot Springs, Wildlife watching tours and more. All of these are less than half an hour away from the house.
Our concierge is always available at our new and modern Welcome Center to help you book tours, find the best restaurants, book a massage and get the most out of your time in the area.

-LOCATION: El Castillo is approx. 3 hours (150km) from both international airports, either in the capital of San Jose, or on the northern pacific coast in Liberia. La Fortuna, which is a small city that offers amenities such as grocery, banking, post office, restaurants, hot springs, excursions and much more, is only 30 minutes away.

- GETTING AROUND: You will want your own Rental Car. While there are a few things to see and a couple of restaurants within walking distance of the house, there are many activities that require a 10 to 45 minute drive. You will not be happy waiting for a cab to arrive either coming or going.

The location of this beautiful home is perfect. We loved the small town of El Castillo and the views from the property were spectacular. We loved having our morning coffee on the balcony while watching the clouds move across Arenal and bird watch. The owners live on the property and were very welcoming and helpful. The location was great and would highly recommend!

We just completed our trip to Pie in the Sky Villa and couldn't be more pleased! We had a group of 10 and spent four days in the La Fortuna area. This house is located on the south side of Lake Arenal and has amazing views at every direction. It's a 30 minute drive into the town of La Fortuna but most good activities are not there anyway. We highly recommend Sky adventures for zip lining less than 10 minutes away. The house is very removed but that's what we wanted. It feels like you're out overlooking the jungle. It has a few really good restaurants very close so you don't need to go into la Fortuna . It also has a small market down the road. The house itself is well equipped, clean, and has all the amenities including a cool pool and hot tub with outrageous views. The owners are extremely nice people as well and were very helpful. It is about 2.5 hours from Taramindo with a beautiful drive around the north side of lake Arenal. Try to drive in during the day for best views and less stress. It's a windy curvy road, but in nice condition. We couldn't recommend it more!

The property was exquisite. 360 of incredible views. We enjoyed using the hot tub and extensive balcony at night overlooking the volcano and the covered outdoor spaces in the morning enjoying our coffee and nature. We liked that it was far enough away from the busy town of La Fortuna to get the peace, tranquility, and breathtaking wildlife while also being close enough to the Hot Springs, attractions, etc. The home itself was practical for us as we had seven people: two couples and three young adults. Everyone had their own room and bathroom, which was a plus. Definitely recommend!

Awesome location, and views

This property is absolutely amazing. Awesome views of the volcano and lake and the landscape surrounding. It is absolutely beautiful. It sits high on a hill without any close neighbors. The area is super as well. Close to restaurants and all the excursions and hot Springs, etc. Some items did not work, however or needed repair. We found plumbing leaks. The safes didn’t work the grill needed repair and it could use a washer and dryer. But otherwise we had a wonderful day.

2nd Stay @ Pie In the Sky

We stayed here in 2019 as well. Incredible views of Lake Arenal, volcano and jungle with howler monkeys and beautiful birds. We love the Eagle's Nest for a morning coffee and just to enjoy the view. 30 minutes from La Fortuna and 5 minutes from 3 nice restaurants and markets. Will go back again in the future.

Mosca Family Costa Rica Trip

I took my family of 13 including 4 grandchildren to Costa Rica for 10 days. We stayed at the Pie in The Sky Villas for the first 5 nights and were not disappointed. The house and grounds were amazing and the views even better. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Ronald Peterson, after a few minutes he became one of my family. You could not ask for a better host. The location is perfect for any activities you want around the Arenal Volcano. 5 bedrooms & 5 baths, more than enough room for all. Th swimming pool was like something in a movie especially with the views.

A gem of a house with the best views

My family of 5 loved this home in the jungle. The kitchen was well stocked, the pool and hot tub were perfect, the beds were comfortable and each bedroom has it’s own air conditioning unit. The driveway is steep but manageable even during rainy season. The grounds are gorgeous and the lake/volcano/rainforest views are to die for. The treehouse is super cute, too. Coffee on the porch outside the bedrooms was the best! There is a little market for some provisions and snacks. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well. We highly recommend La Ventanita. We also went white water rafting and zip lining during our stay in the mountains. Will definitely stay here when in Costa Rica!

Stunning views and fun for kids with room for a large group

Overall we loved staying here. There was just enough room for our group of 10 (7 adults and 3 kids aged 4-17). The views of the lake and the volcano are absolutely breathtaking, and the house is situated on a beautiful property surrounded by jungle, so we saw lots of birds right off the porch. The pool and hot tub were amazing, and entertained the kids for hours, all with a spectacular backdrop. The house and grounds were in good shape, clean, and well cared for. A couple things in the house needed to be fixed when we got there, but the property manager was immediately responsive and sent someone up to repair them right away. Communication was excellent. The property itself is up a very long and steep driveway, so it's really not possible to walk anywhere from the house and I don't know what would have happened if two cars were on the driveway going opposite directions, but we didn't run into that problem. The only other issue we had was having to check in at the welcome center prior to getting to the house might have been an issue had we arrived after the office closed. We had some difficulty coordinating the different parts of our group so that we could get the gate openers to everyone, but worked out. This was not an issue with the property, but be aware that the grocery stores in El Castillo have very limited supplies of fresh vegetables and fruit, so make sure to shop in La Fortuna before heading to the property.

Spectacular

Property is better than in the pictures. Pool and jacuzzi were immaculately clean. Great views and well appointed kitchen. The supplied coffee was delicious. Monkeys and birds were entertaining. Location close to activities and provided a needed quiet from the fast paced adventure activities. Nearby restaurants were all 10/10. Highly recommend.

Paradise

Absolutely gorgeous property with unbelievable views. The house itself was nice and comfortably slept 8 adults. Living room furniture is very uncomfortable but luckily we didn't spend much time sitting there. Kitchen was semi-well stocked but there are not any reasonable grocery stores nearby to be able to cookanything. Lots of ants got in the kitchen so couldn't leave anything out. We did hire a private chef the first night which was quite lavish and very expensive at around $120 per person. There are a number of restaurants within a 15 minute drive. It's about a 30 minute drive to Fortuna.

Great place to stay in that area.

We stayed for 3 nights and did the volcano hike, hanging bridges and coffee and chocolate tour. 6 adults and was plenty of room. Ate at both Howlers and Fusion which were both good and very close to us.

Amazing views!

The property grounds were amazingly beautiful well kept and views were well worth the stay. Erica and Agustin were available for questions and they responded quickly. The draw back was for how huge the place is the living room was so small and couches were outdated and not comfortable. Not enough room for all eight of us to sit and relax together. And it had no AC so it would get stuffy even with the bedroom doors open to allow cooling. Although cleaning services were provided our rooms were still not really cleaned but they did provide clean towels. The grilling area, pool and hot tub were a great bonus. Location was good restaurants and grocery store around. In end it was a 4 1/2 stars but rating doesn’t do 1/2s.

Spectacular View

Our stay at pie in the sky was absolutely wonderful. The view from the property was amazing and made our family feel at home in Costa Rica. The house was well maintained and had ample space for our family to spread out. The separate bedroom was a nice space as well although the stairs down to the bathroom were tricky at night. The kitchen and dining table were exactly what our party needed, especially for the holidays and our large group. Our party enjoyed using both the pool and hot tub as well as the grill area. The location is a bit far from La Fortuna area but that is what our group wanted. There were plenty of places to eat around the house. The road up to the house was a bit steep but expected given the view you get and the road was well paved. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come again.

Beautiful views

We traveled to this property before Christmas. It was beautiful! Such an amazing property that truly was a unique vacation rental. The property was very private. We saw a toucan on the property as well as many other birds. The view of the volcano was beautiful.

Beautiful Property

My family and I spent 4 nights on this beautiful property. The kids loved the hot tub and pool. The adults loves the views. There landscaping was beautiful and the view of the lake was amazing. The location is about it 30 minutes to La Fortuna but very close to quite of few things to do like zip lining and hiking. The drive to La Fortuna is a bit windy and the road had a few pot holes in it when we were there. We ate pizza at Howler’s the first night and it was really good. If you plan to cook while you are there you might want to buy groceries in La Fortuna. The small stores down the road from the house had a few things but not a lot of variety. Very nice people though. There were some ants that liked to visit at night by the property manager provided us with Raid after the first night. If we sprayed around the door before sunset it seemed to help. If you are looking for beautiful, peaceful views this is the place for you.
