"There was some delay in getting the code prior to checking in (even though it was a late check in) which made us feel unsafe waiting outside in the dark with little lighting. We ended up fidgeting with the lockbox and found it opened up easily to get the keys. We all felt uncomfortable with this, given the area. The owner did finally contact us with the code after we reached out through the app - just wish he emailed it earlier and prior to check in time as an earlier email suggested he would. There were other things that flagged our stay as not being the most clean set up - but the accommodations did get us through the night and in time for the ferry right across the street, for that we are grateful. "

"We had to stay one night in Tahiti to catch the ferry to Moorea the next day. This hotel was walking distance to everything. The ferry, food, bars, and a grocery store to grab snacks and drinks for our stay in Bora Bora. Was a basic room. And very clean with friendly staff. "

"The staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are all upstairs with no elevator. This was a perfect stay for a night between islands. We slept comfy with Air conditioning. We had a small breakfast included with toasts, cheeses, butter, jams, and juice. It was also located in the heart of Papeete so you can walk to the brewery, food trucks, or the market at any time. Would highly recommend this place for anyone on a budget or anyone in between islands for a night or two. "

"Everything was horrible!!! Cab driver couldn't find the address... he Googles Gooogle Maps, called 2 people from his company.... you have NO PHONE NUMBER to call for these emergencies!! We didn't get there as no one knew where to go... why? NO PHONE NUMBER!! Never again!! I have to pay for something I've never used."

"I was impressed with the Maitai Express. Coming to Tahiti I had stayed in a different airport hotel and was extremely disappointed. I changed my reservations on my return to Tahiti but wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, it was wonderful. Staff was amazing, cheery & helpful. Room was clean, lovely, soooooo comfy & the a/c worked perfectly. You can't beat the location for ferry to Moorea, cruise ship terminal & airport. Also great options for restaurants & shopping within walking distance. "

"Was one of best hostels I've stayed in. Reception was staffed 24/7 with friendly, helpful people. Key card entry to floor, hallway & room. My private room had a double bed & a/c. The restrooms/showers are accessible, clean & private.The community area was clean, had comfortable seating, an espresso machine, teapot & fixings, microwave, water & ice."
