"Yutorelo is located right along the main strip of Chuzenji Onsen, making it very convenient for catching the bus between Nikko Station and all the hikes heading up to Yudaki Onsen. The property itself is a very fun, young hostel vibe, with good WiFi and games (i.e. a collection of board games and ping pong), an efficient check-in/out process, and helpful staff. The view from the room and the lounge is also extraordinary."

"I stayed at the Ritz-Carlton Nikko recently and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The location alone makes it worth the trip — right on Lake Chuzenji, with the mountains and waterfalls of Nikko all around. It feels super peaceful and completely different from the city vibe of Tokyo. Rooms The rooms are huge by Japanese standards and beautifully designed. Think modern but with lots of Japanese touches — sliding doors, deep soaking tubs, and big windows that frame either the lake or the mountains. Mine had a lake view and waking up to that every morning was amazing. Food Food was excellent. Breakfast had both Japanese and Western options (the Japanese one was really special). Dinner was pricey, but the kaiseki course was worth it for the experience. If you want something lighter, there are cafés around the lake too. Onsen & Spa This is where the hotel really stands out. The onsen (hot spring) is incredible — both indoor and outdoor baths with natural hot spring water. Sitting outside in the hot bath while looking at the mountains was pure magic. Service super professional, but also warm and friendly. They remembered small details about preferences and made everything feel easy. Special thanks to Alex, Marek and Tiff. Overall If you’re heading to Nikko and want to splurge, this is the place. It’s not cheap, but it feels like an experience rather than just a hotel stay. Perfect for a co"

"Wonderful place to stay in the Nikko area. This is a small hotel of 15 rooms overlooking lake Chuzenji. You either make a bus from Nikko station or a have a car to drive up the mountain. There are lots of walks to do in this area and the Kegon waterfall is very impressive. The rooms are spacious and was in the western style. The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was a hassle. We had breakfast and dinner included which I would recommend. The breakfast had a variety of both western and eastern dishes. The dinners were in the kaiseki style and were fabulous. With beautiful fresh ingredients. They also inquire as to any food allergies and cater the meal to that. Could not ask for a better place to stay. "

"I think very few gaijin go this far out. Some of the communication was difficult but the staff tried really hard and we enjoyed the stay Hard to navigate getting to and from major stations and it snowed one day at end of March Overall I’m glad we did it for the experience to be immersed in Japanese culture.
