"It was nice, but I wanted my food served in my room, but it was a buffet style. Otherwise the Hot Springs is nice along the river…..very big and if you’re looking for a small ryokan style this is not it. This is more for a group activities."

"Friendly staff, nice natural Onsen within premise, very convenient-centrally located and brightly lit, especially when walking back at night after dinner outside, it's most welcoming. Amenities at the lounge and free shuttle service to/from Yamagata station is important for me so it's nice to have that. Room is spacious, very peaceful stay."

"We tried both Japanese room and western room and both are good but we preferred the latter. We also love having snacks and drinks in the lounge area and it’s free. I don’t drink alcohol but my family members do and they love it. The onsen is also good."

"Absolutely incredible! The staff was very friendly and the onsens were relaxing. We didn't realize there was a shiatsu massage chair in the room. That was a definite bonus. We went for the junior suite, which was a bit of a splurge, but worth every penny. I would definitely recommend the upgrade. "

Our other favorite part was the dinner - our server was so amazing with us and compliments to the chef for preparing the delicious food.
