"There are better hotels in the area for about the same price. Parking was $30 a night and that was unexpected. The hotel has a smokey scent, which i think is intended but it was very unpleasant and just smelled like campfire to me. The room is cramped when you try to use the luggage carrier in and out. And, since we stayed for 5 nights, the rooms didn't have enough drawers for us both to unpack. They were the most shallow drawers ever, wouldn't close with a sweater in them!"

"It’s a very old hotel. Room was very clean upon arrival. I stayed for a few days I requested housekeeping but never came. Requested clean towels but never came."

"We booked a deluxe room and there was NOTHING deluxe about it. The commode was not attached to the wall and banged against the wall every time you sat down or stood up. There were black smudge fingerprints on the ceiling. Per the description, we were going to get a couples massage but they no longer offer that. The WiFi was non existent in our room, it worked fine in the lobby but not a chance in our room. We had planned to order dinner in the room one evening, but their version of in room dining is snacks. There was no lunch or dinner menu available for in room dining. This was basically a fancy holiday inn. I expected much better. "

"The room was really nice. The only complaint, if you want to call it that, is there was no gift shop. I’m used to seeing gift shops, so if you want to get anything that you forgot. They did have vending machines. I think a gift shop just makes it nicer. "

"I was very frusterated with the check-in process and the staff. We booked this hotel to have 2 queen beds and then at check-in which was just before 10pm at night they tried to tell me that they did not have any double queen rooms available and that I was getting switched into a kind room (which was a less expensive room then the one I booked). Never once did they say anything about me getting money back since they were putting me into a different room then what I originally paid for. I asked to speak to a manager and the girl just kept disappearing for long lengths of time and then would come back without a manager. She did this several times and finally came back saying that they magically found a double queen room after all. It seemed like they were trying to hustle us into a different (less expensive) room type so that they could sell our double queen room to someone else for more money. Once again, they were trying to move me to a king room that was less expensive without offering any type of money back for it. I then asked for a manager to contact me which never happened until I had to ask several times for it. We were supposed to be staying at this hotel again in April for 3 nights and I just canceled our stay and rebooked at the Gault House in hopes of having a better customer service experience. I will say that the hotel was very clean and looked very nice though, I just was not happy with how the staff handled us and tried to hustle us out of our room."
