It's a noisy neighborhood. The hotel kindly provides earplugs, but it's not enough to shut out the heavy street noise that continues well past midnight on weekends

Save a lot of money by staying out side of NYC with a short 8 min drive.
The are is up and coming. Plenty off great Latin-American and Caribbean restaurants with great food, drink and music. We went to Rumba Cubana which had a native Cuban preparing top notch monitors, to Latin music upstairs. Great views of NYC.
I felt very safe
actually we just came late daily but I would say it is a quiet place to live ,to crowded and expensive but it was a good journey enjoying it with our siblings
