This house is new. Everything was clean and very welcoming. House had everything you needed. Pictures were the same as the house. Mornings were beautiful, sunny and birds were singing. We stayed at this property almost a month. During our stay we had rain through the nights and that was ok with us. Patricia made us feel very welcome, she left goodies for us. You need a car to get places, it takes around 20 minutes to get to shopping centers. If you wnat to try local best fresh fruit and vegetables, you have to visit farmers market in Hilo, but next to Foodland, way closer to the house, we shop there and it's open every day. Better quality food and prices are the same. When buying a fresh fish, must go to Suisan Fish Market in Hilo. For us the best beach was Carl Smith Beach Park. This is the only beach where is some sand. Water is colder, but snorkeling is nice there. You can see turtles there almost every day. We did and it was amazing experience. They get really close to you there. This beach is not very deep, so kids will enjoy it too. It gets crowded on the weekends, get there sooner. Life guard is there. Hilo has the best bakery - Papa'a paloa bakery (closed sunday). If you want to see lava, you don't have to pay money to companies, you can drive to Kalapana and rent bikes from KAIMU RENTALS for $20 each (you can also just walk). This is one of the best experiences we did.
We loved this house, mahalo for sharing it with us.
