We appreciated the location of this property which was within close proximity to the places we wanted to visit. There is a couple coffee shops and a souvenir store next door. The breakfast was cooked fresh to order and served between 6:30 am and 8:30am. There are 3 choices; pancakes, traditional and American with a small plate of fresh fruit and coffee, tea or juice. The neighbours have a lot of dogs and they make a huge racket (barking and howling) but we heard nothing after about 8pm and it didn’t start up again until 8am. The walking trail on the property was more extensive than we thought. The room was very spacious and comfortable. We were provided plenty of towels and the kitchenette was well equipped. We really enjoyed the wildlife, cats and dog on the property. The highlight of our stay was the helpful staff members who helped us plan our excursions and served us breakfast.

Clean, no-frills room (no TV or fridge). Bed okay. Delicious breakfast. Close to many activities. Quiet area, but can hear people talking as they walked by room in the morning. Good value. Can see some wildlife on the premises.

This is a problem with Expedia rather than the hotel. I needed to cancel my reservation but could not find the mechanism in Expedia to do so. I finally resorted to emailing the hotel directly and received a reply that they got my message and were working on my request. Obviously my request got way laid since I didn't hear from them again but thought that I had canceled my reservation. On the night we were originally scheduled to arrive I get a call at 10 pm asking where we were and I informed the attendant that I had canceled about a month previously. I felt terrible that she had stayed at the reception until 10 pm but I feel that it was really not my fault and I couldn't do anything about it at the time. I have been charged for the two nights - $285.90 - and don't expect to receive anything back. I do have the email where they said they were working on my request. I am sure the hotel is a wonderful place to stay. My rating is more for Expedia which made the whole problem to begin with by not having a clear mechanism to cancel a reservation even in their app. Lisa Buchanan

Great place, quiet Small trails on the site Good breakfast & coffee No tv (but that’s not a bas thing) Close to a really good coffee shop…the latte was excellent! The receptionnist was really nice and helped us book activites.

Basic but clean accommodation. The lodges have their own nature trail which is fun (takes 30mins to walk round). There is a nice cafe and small supermarket at the end of the hotel drive but you really need your own transport to get into Santa Elena.

I tried to cancel the reservation on March 9th which was 4 days before and about 2 days after booking and there would be no refund of the charges so I did nothing. At the least it would give them some extra paperwork for all the money I paid for nothing. I'm sure they booked the room and made double the money. Sad but lesson learned. Expensive lesson.

Very easy checkin, all staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were spacious and clean, the property has a nice walking trail, and I saw lots of beautiful wildlife just outside of my room.

Visita a monteverde

Me gusto mucho el hotel, es un lugar ideal para descansar. Las habitaciones son cómodas y cálidas, muy limpias. El servicio al llegar me parecio muy bueno y la atención muy cordial. Dan varias opciones de desayuno. También está muy cerca de las reservas y hay múltiples restaurantes alrededor. Muy recomendado!!!

Sehr schönes gemütliches Haus. Ein Wanderweg ist direkt vom Garten aus zu erreichen. Die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr hilfsbereit. Die ersten Tiere spazierten bereits durch den Garten. Gutes Frühstück.

Key card was only activated for two night stay by mistake and we got back from a long hike to not be able to access our room and reception was not manned. It was soon sorted but a bit of a pain. A bit of a lack of plug sockets but just adequate.
