"It was a lovely stay. We stayed for three nights and it was a lovely room. Didn’t hear the pub downstairs at all. Down the road is a dominos and a lovely Indian next door i reccomend it was great! We have breakfast served in the morning but something went wrong w the kitchen but it was still a lovely breakfast. "

"The hotel is easy to find, great parking, ability to eat at the hotel and sit in a nice beer garden. If you have mobility issues make sure you request ground floor room as there are lots of stairs and long corridors. I stayed in a deluxe room which was advertised as bigger than average. Overall pleasing colour decor. Tea, coffee , water . Now to be picky - the mattresses on the single beds pushed together to represent a" king size bed " need replacing . The shower area needs to be bleached....

"Incredible, ancient building with wonky floors and head-cracking beams and an incredible oak clad dining room in this olde royalist town. Full of character. Friendly and helpful staff and a great bath. My only criticism would be the single bed l was in was very small and l didn’t sleep much as l was scared of falling out. "

"Room was superb. Turns out I had the bridle suit which was very nice. The only complaint if I had to find one would be the pillows. Looked big and comfy but they wasn’t. All went flat and not very comfortable, but that’s an objective complaint. Food was exceptional. Very friendly and helpful staff. I will be certainly using this hotel again on my travels. "

"Stayed here for a wedding, room was small but clean. You could feel the bed springs on your back when you laid down and the bed was a bit small. Understood they had breakfast included, but they don't serve breakfast. Staff was lovely and very accommodating. "

"A lovely, quiet hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were all lovely and made us feel welcome. We stayed in the room with a balcony, and the view was wonderful. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Would definitely return! Thankyou. "

"A great stay with great staff and a lovely room,the room was a bit dated and well presented a little dirt on the walls and light shade but that was not a problem unless your very picky.all in all a lovely stay and will definitely use again when in the area."

"A Hidden Gem of a Hotel. Staff Are All very Friendly and made us Feel very Welcome. Food is First Class. Grounds are very well Manicured. Excellent base for Visiting Bristol, but you will need a Car as Hotel is off the Beaten track."

"We had a lovely stay here. Stunning views from the cottage and was all very cosy and well-equipped. Great walks nearby and a pub within walking distance. We used the fire in the living room but it doesn't draw very well, so the room got very smoky (but might be my fire-making skills not being up to scratch!). Not the easiest to get to, especially if you have a large car. You'll need the directions, as it's really tucked away."

"Has a lovely time at the cottage which is in a fantastic position overlooking Monmouth. The cottage is very comfortable with all the facilities you need. Overall an excellent place to spend some time chilling!"
