Room is spacious, old structure but well maintained and bathroom is newly renovated. However, the bathroom is designed for only tall people. Everything is out of reach for us petite women. The toilet is unusable. Too big to sit on without hurting your butt. Shower is too tight with little to no slope for water to drain. Staff was really nice, gave us all the good restaurant recommendations.

Firstly, the staff at Santa Marta suites were fantastic! The lady who checked us in was very polite and kind, as we had just landed in Italy for the first time, she gave us recommendations of where to eat, and the gentleman who checked us out was equally friendly and pleasant! The suite we stayed in was very lovely! The bed was soft but comfortable, the location was great being far enough away from the tourist hotspots but close enough that everything we wanted to see was comfortably in walking distance. A couple of things we had confusion over, which is more likely user error, is we didn’t realise the bigger bath towels were kept in the cupboard in the bedroom; we didn’t think to check! And we couldn’t fill the bathtub (got to about a quarter and wouldn’t fill more); again, not down rating because possibly user error but if others notice, maybe not! The suite and building itself was stunning and the elevator has been beautifully preserved. Generally, a wonderful place to stay and would happily stay again!

I chose this property for its proximity to central Milan (walking distance to key sights). I didn't realize my booking was for the Annex building which was a 5 minute walk away from check in. They didn't offer any assistance with luggage. Being in Milan for the first time it was tricky navigating to the Annex especially after a long day of travel. Giuseppe at the Annex was very nice and helpful to us. Our room/apartment was clean and very comfortable. We were told we'd receive a bottle of wine for our stay and that bottle was just a 375ml. (so half). If booking the Annex I'd just be prepared for the distance it is away from the main hotel. I'm glad we didn't arrive after dark. Giuseppe is what makes it a 4 star to us and not a 3.

We stayed in the apartment around the corner about 5-6 minutes walk. With luggage and the heat-a little rough. But it was in a very quiet area(which we loved) with a working elevator it made it easy to get to the second floor. The kitchenette was cute, no stove to cook though. The only downside to the entire apartment is the mattress itself. Two doubles put together and you could feel they had seen their time. The attendant that greeted us at check in was soo friendly and helpful and kind! He gave us several points on our Google Maps to know, including excellent places for eating and gelato! He even stayed later after the reception had closed to help us get checked in! We really appreciated his hospitality 100%!

This is a classic old boutique European hotel. Rooms are small and bathrooms “petite”. The staff were very helpful, especially Payman who gave us full attention, great food recommendations and perfect directions. Hotel is close to many historical sites. Overall, great staff, convenient location and small dated rooms.

A convenient and charming place to stay near the city center and good restaurants. The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. The hotel does not offer laundry service, but a young woman on the front desk found us an independent service and made the arrangements.

Cute boutique hotel way off the beaten path yet still walkable to Old Milano. Staff is very helpful, and the room was nice and clean. Air conditioning function is limited as one would expect in Italy. Nepresso coffee maker in room and a made to order breakfast was included. Only one complaint (kind of a big deal): The bathroom shower is a real problem in room 2. The water ran out on the floor, all over the floor, with each shower. First I thought the shower door wasn’t shut tightly. Nope. The shower floor pan is raised above the floor tiles, but there is no flashing or caulk or molding to keep water inside the shower. The drain is slow, and the water spreads out into the bedroom. We did tell the kind woman working reception, but we were only there a few days. I don’t know if it was fixed.

We had an excellent stay at Santa Marta. We were greeted and assisted by Peymon who was friendly, knowledge, and kind. We arrived filthy from our journey and he went out of his way to get us in our room early. So we could shower and begin our enjoyment of the city. He took the time to give us great recommendations. And treated us like old friends. Every recommendation he gave was amazing. Our room was spacious & Clean. The rooftop was beautiful by day and by night. The location of the location of this hotel is great, and we really appreciated the boutique experience. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend for any visitor looking to enjoy Milan. But avoid the craziness of a large hotel. And the noise of the city
