Service wasn't super friendly but for the price of a powered campsite at the local caravan park during summer holidays, we got a basic (despite the luxury label) room with AC and private bathroom which was quiet and clean enough for our one night stay. Would not hesitate to book and stay again.

The room was clean but there was masking tape on the inside of the front door and some other fittings in the room were not in good order. The phone number said it was disconnected when I rang it and no one answered the given mobile number. When I arrived at the premises it looked like it was not operating. The premises were advertised as a conference centre and accomodation but it is very run down. The location is good, but the venue needs a complete restoration/overhaul and I assume the enormity of that work/cost is why the venue is in the state it is in. If you want somewhere based on location and privacy then it might be ok. The only staff I ever saw was one person when I checked in and checked out, and both times I had to ring the bell. My room was never serviced in the 6 days I was there. I really hope the owners can invest and return the property to it’s potential.

Room and ensuite was clean, bed was comfortable and heating good. Parking outside our room was very tight. The track leading up to the property did not have a proper sign pointing to turn in. Just a hand written one leaning against a post which we missed in the dark. When we drove up to the main building there was no sign pointing where to go in for reception. We stayed two nights but when we had our breakfast we had nothing to wash our plates with , no cloth, brush, tea towel etc and had to do them in the bathroom sink. They need to put in a shelf for the toaster and kettle as they just sat them on top of the microwave. We were comfortable here but there just needs to be a few small extras for a better stay.

What I liked was the gardens, that's it!! The room given to us was horrible, old, run down, old bathroom, mini kitchen was in the bathroom. no working TV. The bed was so old & soft. This was not what I booked. This was most definitely not what I paid for. When I spoke with reception, he didn't understand my name, could not find our room and when asked why I have this old run-down room & not the one I actually booked, he could not give me an answer. This was a major concern. Eventually he got another colleague to answer my questions, again he could not give me an answer, not sure if he understood what I was asking either. It could either be they did not understand, but I doubt it, or they knew what they were doing and decided to give us a run-down old room. 'Dodgy' is what came to mind. We eventually got what he said was 'an upgrade.' When we got to our room, again the 'so called' mini kitchen was in the bathroom. The bed was so old, that on one side the springs had gone & I was having trouble trying to stay in bed and not roll out. Had the worst sleep as next door you could hear guests talking & then when asleep, could hear them snoring. The walls are paper thin. This accommodation has so much potential, but I feel these new owners don't care. Their priority is money first and worry about the maintenance "never". If passing through and desparate for a bed, then yep this is the place, but if making a special night or weekend away, then keep looking or keep driving.
