"The Gut Stiluppe just finished its renovation, and while the new parts look stunning, the upgrade has yet to proliferate to all parts of the place activity. Specifically, it feels the kitchen needs to really improve - morning eggs arrived at odd shapes (like scrambled eggs that weren’t scrambled before fried), and coffee with regular milk after we explained of a lactose intolerance. I think it will take a bit more time until the service gets to the level of facilities."

"We stayed here for a week in September, the only concern is had beforehand was it's closeness to the train station, but this was not a problem at all and it was nice to see the little red train go by. Lovely apartment, spacious, nice views. "Very comfortable rooms in very old building. Spa amenities , I mean sauna and steam room , included in the reservation, and they are excellent, very clean . Location is on the central piazza. Breakfas was excellent. I was very satisfied with service. Parking was not included, but city has free parking lots overnight till 7 AM. I belive hotel offers paid parking on site for about 20 Euro, but we diidn't need it. "

"The room felt very old and outdated. The pictures shown online during the booking process looked modern and well-maintained, but the actual room was quite different from what was advertised. This was disappointing, as the photos created a completely different impression. The breakfast was also below expectations. There were very limited options, and the overall quality was not great. For a hotel in this category, I expected a better variety and fresher choices. On the positive side, the sauna area was very good and well-maintained. It was definitely the highlight of the stay. Additionally, the staff were polite."

"The Parkhotel Matrei has some of the most attentive and friendly staff I’ve met. The hotel gave off “home” feelings and not commercial hotel. The convenience of a front parking lot, gas station & grocery nearby was great and the rooms were perfect size for me and my many bags, as well as a space for me to get my work done. I was also given a holiday gift bag because they knew I’d be alone for the holiday. Just a great place, words don’t do them justice. Definitely will be returning some day!"
