"The view from my accommodation and also that of my family members in the two next door was way better than the picture - literally 'tree tops' - looking across the Kent countryside through mature trees. The terrace was perfect for sitting out. The rooms were modern and really lovely, air conditioned, well equipped and with a sliding Japanese style door for privacy when the kids were in bed. The reserve was so peaceful"

18. The Castle Hotel

17.3 km from Lydd (LYX)

"This property is not a hotel. It is a pub with rooms to let. It is misleading to think of this as a hotel. The beds were comfy and clean. The room itself was old fashioned and shabby with ripped carpets. The bathroom was appalling. No blind on the window which faced the village and had the toilet right next to it. The towel rail was over the toilet. The bathroom had a macerator which was really noisy, so you couldn't flush the toilet at night. The beds were made up incorrectly and we ended...

Top Lydd Hotel Reviews

Coastguard Lookout by Bloom Stays, Dungeness - one of a kind!

8/10 Good

"This property is absolutely amazing for its location and uniqueness. But it is definitely showing some wear. The bed on the top floor needs a re-do as it's not all that comfortable and looks worn when you strip the sheets on the last day. The induction hob is 'temperamental' at best. The kitchen is well supplied from an equipment perspective, but some initial groceries would be really nice at this price point - some milk or snacks, etc. - as it is a remote location. The living area on the 2nd floor is fantastic - incredible view and a very cosy vibe with the wood burner and built in sofa. The bathroom is also showing its age - needs some refurbishment for the price point. Overall the location and views are absolutely stunning. And love the minimalist design. But it could use a re-vamp to justify the price."

The Ship Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Great staff that could not do enough for us, newly decorated room very good restaurant (but very busy) breakfast is amazing but it you do have to be a bit patient but it is very much worth the wait. Parking is adequate but i would think if you turn up later in the evening you would struggle for space Our second stay there and would do it again"

The Family Beach House - Camber Sands

8/10 Good

"Lovely house, had everything we needed, lots of room & big sofa so we could all sit together. Beach, pub & shops all within walking distance. The camber castle staff were lovely so if you’re visiting definitely show them some love.Communication with the hosts was super easy, very quick responses & they answered all questions clearly. Highly recommended. We all wanted to stay longer !"

Beautiful Seafront Home with Amazing Views!

8/10 Good

"We had a lovely stay in this comfortable house, which is in a fantastic location and very convenient for exploring the area. Communication from the host was excellent, and we really appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts and little touches on arrival. The internet connection was quite weak during our stay. The house is very warm, which was particularly noticeable during our stay as the weather was hot. As a townhouse, the outside spaces are relatively small and spread across the three floors, so there wasn’t really an area where we could all sit together outside and enjoy the sea view. However, the back yard accommodated us all and worked well for an enjoyable games night and barbecue."

T's Beach House Beautiful sea views and direct beach access

10/10 Excellent

"A lovely holiday home, equipped with just about everything you may need, particularly in the kitchen. Very clean and tidy on arrival. The area is very peaceful with lots to do within a short drive. The ice cream outlet just outside the back gate was amazing, though the service was a bit slow, it was worth the wait! The beach area itself was very clean and tidy. Very informative host. I don’t usually go somewhere twice, as the world is a big place, but I might make an exception here. Would highly recommended!"

A fabulous Grade II listed converted 14th Century pub. Child and pet friendly

10/10 Excellent

"Exactly what we wanted, ideal space indoor and out for our party of 14 staying and another 6 on the day of our party arriving for the day only. Superbly well stocked glasses, crockery, general kitchen equipment etc etc, unlike most which always seem to have some obvious items missing. A characterful building in a pleasant, unassuming small town with a fine church and good beer in the local pub."
