"The room was not especially clean. When you went into the en-suite there were cobwebs, and not even at the ceiling level but just above eye level. The heating was on full, there's two radiators in the room, I turned them both off, but the room was still boiling because there was a very large pipe connecting the radiators and it was effectively itself a giant radiator which couldn't be switched off. Why does the building's heating need to be on full at 3pm in March anyway? The four poster bed was squeaky as anything. Any time one of us moved in the night, the other woke up. I can't imagine how other residents would've appreciated us working through the Kama Sutra. The staff member who checked us in seemed soulless. We didn't have the brekkie but then we'd seen he Four In A Bed episode where almost everybody got the wrong order and half of them got egg shell in their food. On the plus side, the extractor fan was attached to our ceiling so not all bad."

"We spent a week at this lovely rural cottage over the New Year to find time to relax and wind down. It was very well equipped and has the benefit of dedicated off-road parking. The standard of the accommodation is very high with good quality kitchen and dining implements as well. It was cozy and warm and we didn’t even need to light a fire, even with snow outside, although it was nice to have the option if needed. There are some great country walks from the cottage and it is also an easy walk to the local pub if you want to leave the car. There is plenty of wildlife and birds to see from, and in, the rear garden. Chester, Wrexham and the North coast resorts of Prestatyn, Rhyl and Llandudno are an easy drive from the accommodation. The hosts have thought of everything and we would not hesitate in recommending a stay here. Wendy and Steve Woodward December 25 to January 26"

"This is a terraced house, rather than a “cottage” but is extremely well presented and is in an excellent location. Only five minutes walk to the centre of Mold with all the restaurants, shops etc. Parking in the street is always available, although not always directly outside the house itself. If parallel parking is not your thing there’s a giant car park one minutes walk away which is free from 3pm to 8am and very cheap the rest of the time. Highly recommended for an evening meal is the Deadwood Smokehouse (if you’re not vegetarian). "
