Laurel Stay-May 2024
The original unit we requested had two queen beds. The landlord sent us instructions and "code" for the cypher lock, but the "code" expired before our arrival, so we had to contact her, via email, because she did not leave a phone number. We included our phone number in the email and the landlord called us to give us a new "code". After getting into the unit, we discovered that our unit had 2 twin beds, instead of 2 queen beds. We were confused, but thought that the other unit had been rented, and we were put into an alternate unit. Later that evening, the landlord called and apologized, because she realized that we were not in the unit we requested. Since, the original requested unit was not rented at the time, the landlord offered to let us move into the original unit, but by that time, we had already "settled" into our current unit and were tired from our drive to the area. The second day or our stay, a panhandler came into our area and asked for money. It was a little surprising to be solicited at our vacation home, because we thought that if we encountered any panhandlers, it would occur in more public areas, like where tourists shop or dine. We felt a little intimated by his approach.

House was wonderful. It's walkable to everything that's downtown Laurel. Beautifully decorated, stocked well and extremely comfortable. I highly recommend and would definitely stay again. Owner was great with communication. The only difference I would make is I would have preferred a king bed in the master bedroom instead of 2 queens. It's a little tight with 2 queens, but with 1 king would have been plenty spacious and more comfortable for guests. I can't really imagine 2 couples sleeping the same room, but maybe it's been set up for families, which is fine. LOVED our stay.

Great access to downtown Laurel!
We enjoyed our stay at the Reunion House! The location was perfect for exploring downtown. It's a small space, but was the perfect size for myself, my mother, and my two small children. We only experienced a couple of negatives during our stay. First, it was a very chilly day when we arrived and the A/C unit was turned to cool. It was 63 degrees inside and took us most of the night to warm the place up to a comfortable temperature. Second, this is a rental where you are required to do a lot of cleanup/chores upon checking out, despite paying all the extra cleaning fees required. After staying in several rentals that don't require this, it does make me second guess staying here again. Overall, though, the accommodations were great! We didn't have need of the kitchen, so I can't comment there, but it was set up very nicely. It's a great spot if you have a small party and want the convenience of proximity.
