"Our stay at GHL Hotel Portón in Medellin, Colombia, during April was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff at the front desk and in the restaurant stood out. The hotel is evidently well-managed, with a team that is not only friendly but also incredibly hard-working. The complimentary breakfast offered exceeded our expectations, featuring a delicious array of options. The restaurant's cuisine, in general, was executed with finesse, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Special commendation goes to the restaurant staff, from Flor, Sor, Sebastian, Lorena, Guillermo to Luis at the front desk, whose attentiveness and dedication added to the overall experience. We indulged in a couples massage during our stay, and both masseuses, Ximena and Diana from Nirvana Spa, delivered outstanding service, ensuring a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience. Moreover, the excursions organized by the hotel were fantastic, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to our trip. "Location is perfect: right on 70th Street in the heart of Laureles. The hotel itself is clean but can use some touchups here and there. Small things, like, the bathroom sink didn't have hot water (faucet turned but no water); the sink let water down very slowly. The free breakfast is officially from 6 to 9 am but every employee will tell you a different time. Check in said 6 to 8; maid said 6 to 830. The elevator said 6 to 9. During peak times the elevator has a long line. Pro tip: there's a 3rd somewhat hidden elevator that's usually empty. Check in and check out took a long time as it's a big hotel and only 2-3 people working the front desk. Security is tight. There's a guard at the elevator entrace 24/7. The hotel is situated on the famouse La 70 St. So even if you have a high floor room you will hear music all night up to 4 am. (I turned on white noise on my cell phone so i could sleep)."

"Friendly staff. The Customer service experience -being tentative to picking up empty plates and offering additional drinks- should improve. Buffet area (breakfast) personnel need to provide faster service. We wanted a spice sauce and had to ask 4 different people and it took over 5-7 minutes. Other than these two things, the place and overall service was great! "
