Love the authentic feel of the ryokan and really enjoyed having an onsen on site.
We stayed for 3 nights in this traditional Japanese ryokan. Staff is very friendly, the room is kept clean, and food was amazing.
The only minus was the shared showers.
This was an amazing cultural experience to stay here. Very relaxing and cozy. The staff was super kind and the breakfast was amazing. Definitely come here if you are looking to experience a more traditional Japanese hotel
The staff/owner were amazing! The accommodations were great and we felt so taken care of. The bathroom amenities are also top notch — basically private onsen for guests staying here. Highly recommend! Thank you to the owner for his hospitality and kindness.
Excellent stay, a real traditional Japanese style and feel to the accomodation, staff were incredibly helpful and informative! The facilities were easy to access and the entire property felt clean! Sleeping was very comfortable to! Cannot recommend enough!

Lovely staff but this ryokan needs some attention
Yamamoto Ryokan appears to be a little worn (physically) compared to every other hotel/ryokan that we visited in Japan. The staff were however lovely and accommodating. We were greeted upon our arrival with tea, and our traditional breakfast in a private room was wonderful.
Very beautiful classic ryokan style. Service was exceptional. They carried it our bags. Food was amazing and gorgeous. Rooms were prepared for snacks and bed when we were out. It was my first time with a public bath, but I felt comfortable. The bath was the perfect temperature. The only issue was we (us) waited too long to figure out the light switches. I did not know how to turn off the light near the window, so that was left on all night. I should have looked before and asked when everyone was awake.

Although a little run down this is certainly made up for in the service received. Would stay here again for the convenience.
