"The place is clean, the bedrooms are spacious, the common rooms are cozy, the showers are high pressure, and the staff were very friendly. The only complaint is that the house dog situation was, for the time that I was there, a little concerning. They were quite vocal and unfriendly for the most part, apparently because they were in heat. I believe the staff when they say it's not always like that. But overall I greatly enjoyed Guest House Matsu so much that I kept wanting to spend time there...

"Very nice hostel! Very close to tsuruhashi station, and there's a convenience store right next door. Check in was quick and easy, and the areas are bigger than the pictures make it seem. Everything was clean and comfortable, definitelly recommend!"

"The hostel was comfortable overall. The bathrooms were not that clean as the other hostels I’ve been at in Japan but still bearable. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Only issue is the shoes (which you have to remove before getting in the beds section are placed within the dorm itself giving a nauseating smell for who is close to them, maybe place them outside?staff overall friendly and lounge really nice and equipped "

"I stayed in a semi private room, and it was honestly brilliant. More hostels should do that, cause it was so nice to be able to have your own space, but not have to buy a single room. The other facilities were nice and clean. I also loved that I was invited to join on a night out when I checked in."

"It was hard to get a goodnight sleep, people were very loud which at this point I had stayed in four hotels traveling all around Japan, besides that there were no amenities included which every other hotel offered. I had to pay 200 yen for just a towel. It’s located in a nice area. And I wouldn’t had minded the charge of amenities since I had my own, but the noice, people were not respectful at all and there was noice all night. Overall it’s a good place to stay if you just want a place to leave...

"Honestly between the other hotels and hostels I've stayed at so far, this one had the best bed. Not too soft and not too firm. I was really surprised at how clean the beds and bathrooms were. The living area downstairs is nice and cozy. I was able to chat with others and even met new travel buddy. I'm a chill Texas girl and it was fun meeting people from so many different backgrounds like Argentina, New Zealand, and Korea. I would definitely come again and recommend this place. "The hotel room is more like a studio apartment which I prefer over the typical hotel room. Positives: 1. Very clean and spacious for a single occupant 2. Comes with a washing machine and a bathtub where there is a hanger to dry your clothes. There is also an in-built dryer 3. Great location and near a metro station Negative(s): 1.
