COVID-19 has brought about major changes to how we travel. If you plan to jet off to Kangaroo Island, these tips will help you navigate these new traveling challenges:

• Investigate if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking your flight. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as mandatory quarantining.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, even at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA officer.
• One liquid hand sanitizer container is now allowed in your carry-on luggage. It must be no larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, place personal items such as your phone, keys and wallet into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Food items often trigger the alarm. Putting them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
