"The room was clean enough, staff were ok. They were pet friendly as far as pets were allowed in, but I was shocked to have to pay £20 per night for my small dog! They said it was “all the extra cleaning”!? Breakfast better on day 2. "

"A beautiful, brand new self catering apartment. Was so clean and perfect we felt proud of it ourselves and wanted to ensure we kept it as lovely as it was when we arrived! Helpful instructions, friendly owners (brief interaction, very friendly but not overbearing in any way), amazing view. Definitely recommend."

"Bedrooms & bathrooms were lovely. The personal touches were good too, the cake and sweets they left for us. Also the bedding, duvets and pillows were top quality and so were the hand soap and shower gel left in each bathroom. It was a very eco friendly place too. The kitchen & toilet rolls and cleaning products were all eco friendly and also they had a company to pick up the rubbish and sort it for recycling. We just had to put it all in a dumpster outside. Would definitely go again"

"The cottage was lovely and clean and had very easy parking. The location was perfect, close enough to town but outside of the centre. Easy access to lots of beautiful and interesting places, especially Aysgarth Falls and the Three Peaks. The shops in the centre are full of lovely supplies, and there are plenty of gorgeous places to eat or just sit. We are considering booking this cottage again for next year as we didn't have time to fit in all we would have liked to do. Well done. Excellent."

"Apparently the management had very recently taken over the tenancy which according to the manager was left in a dilapidated state. There were cheap air fresheners all over the establishment. We asked them to be removed, but the smell was impregnated and we had to have the windows open the whole time, which was not great as the heating did not work and a small fan heater was supplied and was totally inefficient. We were asked what time would we like breakfast and when we went down the place was in darkness. We and other guest waited almost an hour when we had to leave. I have never ever had this experience before. I had some health problems as did a collegue as we both had water from the tap. Which may not have been related to the Black Swan"

"Third time staying at The Holt and the apartment looks as fresh as it did on the first visit. The location is perfect - less than 5-minute walk into the market square and set back enough from the road not to be disturbed. Kitchen very well equipped. Bed very comfortable. New shower is great - excellent pressure. There has never been anything that we've needed to ask for during our stay."
