"We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Villa Fontaine Shiodome! The hotel was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and in a great location for exploring Tokyo. The staff was welcoming and helpful, and we truly enjoyed coming back to the hotel after long days of sightseeing. We had such a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Tokyo. Highly recommend!"

Hotel Gracery Shinjuku

Hotel Gracery Shinjuku

10/10 Excellent
"We thoroughly enjoyed Hotel Gracery Shinjuku as a "home base" during our recent trip to Tokyo- it was close to transport and had access to everything we needed to explore Tokyo. Despite being in the "red light" district, we felt safe (mother and teen daughter) and the party atmosphere each night was chaotic, but not problematic. Its distinctive appearance made it an easy navigation tool. Kudos to the daily clean up crew for the streets surrounding. The hotel was a calm oasis inside, and we enjoyed the Godzilla theme- souffle pancakes were a fun tasty treat, despite being pricey. Our room was well appointed- pyjamas, toothbrush, hairbrush, slippers, umbrellas, iron/steamer, safe, fridge etc. But no hand lotion, which was disappointing. Still Tokyo is all about shopping, so no harm done. Staff were lovely, and unobtrusive. 7-11 on site was great, insanely busy at all times. We used the laundry off the lobby, which was great. 30 minutes for wash- machine added detergent so no need to buy but the dryers took about 2 hours to dry to a slightly damp level for a small load."

Shinjuku Granbell Hotel

Shinjuku Granbell Hotel

8/10 Good
"Good room, very clean, and well located if you want to explore Shinjuku on foot. The main downside is that the hotel doesn’t have a comfortable lobby or many common areas where you can relax and spend time outside your room. On a rainy day, for example, I ended up having to stay in my room because there wasn’t really anywhere else to comfortably hang out. The rooftop bar and restaurant were also disappointing in this regard. They don’t allow guests to sit there unless they are consuming something, and we were asked to leave when we weren’t ordering. Overall, a good hotel for the room and location, but the lack of comfortable common areas is something to keep in mind."
