"We very much enjoyed staying in Rurberg, it is a very beautiful and peaceful area. We enjoyed walking, canoeing and boat trips all of which were only ten minutes away from the house . The house itself was impressive and had plenty of space and we enjoyed using the pool table and air hockey table and spent many relaxing hours on the veranda using the comfy outdoor furniture provided. However, unfortunately the house was not very clean, it was dusty and had cobwebs and the kitchen felt greasy and sticky. Also, we felt the house needed a bit more maintaining , that is the blinds were broken in 2 of the bedrooms and the light bulbs did not work in the upstairs hallway or in the bed side lamp in the middle bedroom. Also, if you are visiting from the UK you need to be aware that standard UK sheets do not fit the beds in the house and also we did not realise there would not be any toilet rolls or towels provided . Also shops in Germany are closed on Sundays so we could not get provisions until Monday although café’s at the riverside were open for food. Additionally the house was minimal in terms of furniture, although the lounge was comfy enough there were no bed side tables or bedside lights in the bedrooms and the bathroom was small and always damp, we have fed this back so this may improve. However, saying that the area was lovely and we had a good week there. "
