My flight arrived early in the morning at 6.30 am, and the reception staff treated me rudely, telling me I couldn’t check in until 8 am. When I went back to reception at 8 am, they told me my booking wasn’t on their system. However, as I’d made the booking on my Xperia, I showed them the booking confirmation to verify it. Even though I’d already booked, they kept me waiting for ages whilst they entered the details into the computer, only to then tell me the room wasn’t ready yet. If they’d told me that first thing in the morning, I would have gone out... They told me that if I paid $100 for one night, they’d show me to my room early and upgrade it, so I reluctantly paid up.
The room had no essentials in the bathroom, such as a bin or a glass, and no view whatsoever. My reaction was, ‘What on earth is an upgrade?’ In any case, the front desk staff were rude and I had a very unpleasant experience."
