"I've stayed at Old Silk Appartments twice so far in apartments 8 and 9. Both I found spotless, white soft towels, comfy beds, tastefully decorated well maintained and adequately appointed. Large fridge freezer, 4 ring hob oven and microwave, basic set of kitchen utensils and a couple of pans adequate to cook something simple. "Good all round hotel but plonked in the middle of a modern industrial estate. A good 15 minute walk to the airport and NEC. Breakfast was good with a usual selection of cooked and continental. Staff were spot on! The only down side of our visit was that a refurbishment was going on at the time. Even the name of the hotel has recently changed to AC by Marriott!"

"This hotel was well kept and the room was clean. The reception team were helpful and polite. The grounds were well kept also. The rest of the hotel I wasn’t as impressed with. We were “selected” for an upgrade “offered” for an additional £20 but upon checking this it was the usual rate on Expedia, so hardly an offer! The room was very basic and it was a superior room, I dread to see the standard room. The shower was designed for someone under 5,8ft as I had to crouch to get under it. We asked for a quote room but I doubt there is any such thing as it’s right on the flight path, motorway and train line so it was very noisy throughout our stay. The walls are paper thin so could hear everything. The pool was freezing cold so my son wouldn’t go in it and the jacuzzi was only for over 16’s for some random reason, so as a family we couldn’t even enjoy that part. The gym also was for over 16’s too so another facility we couldn’t use. We didn’t try the on site restaurant as the prices weren’t cheap and you gave resorts world next door with loads of variety to eat and slightly cheaper. The positive is that it’s close to the nec and Birmingham int station. I’d look around for better budget hotels next time."

"I found the hotel and staff to be very pleasant. The accommodation was lovely, a decent size room, very clean, comfy bed and the facilities were ample. The staff were so friendly and what was amazing is that they had enough staff on reception so although the queue was large, I did not have long to wait. "

"We come to this hotel alot. And always find it good. It is in a great location and always enjoy ourselves. We had a slight mix up with our dinner reservation but Brad dealt with it quick and effectively even giving us a courtesy call to let us knkw a table had been available earlier than expected. All staff are friendly and proffesional."
