"The room was fine -- small, but clean. On the downside the bed was hard, and there was a fair amount of noise. There is no air conditioning or heater -- but the weather was moderate. The hotel is within close walking distance to the city center. But on the much bigger plus side, is that on both days my Expedia booked tour companies let me down, but the caring staff at Chankana Hotel (Hostel) went above and beyond to help salvage my entire trip! "A solid choice but nothing special. Better suited to tourists than business travelers. Pros: great / friendly staff, comfortable bed, quiet, convenient location. Cons: very slow WiFi, outdated room, old carpeting (use the free slippers provided), poor in-room coffee (drip), some power outlets not working, gym doesn't open until 8 AM some days, hotel taxi charges twice the going rate"

"It is a wonderful, little, boutique property. The staff is extremely friendly and go the extra kilometer in regards to service. From the point of check-in, to checking out, I had a great stay. Maykol, and the rest of the staff are amazing. They made my stay extremely memorable. It's really nice to be on a first name basis with almost everyone in the hotel by the time you check out.
