"This beach house was perfect for our family vacation! We had plenty of space for our group, and the home was well-appointed, comfortable, and a cool location on the 4wD beach. We loved staying at the salty anchor. Thank you so much! "
Corolla 4x4 beach cottage with phenomenal ocean views!
10/10 Excellent
"Had a good wonderful stay at the Sandsquatch! First stay in the 4x4 area and will definitely be back. We saw the wild horses daily, both on our property and others. Bobby was very responsive when we messaged him and we really enjoyed our whole week. Incredibly fun experience unlike the typical OBX trip! "
"Upon arrival, exterior has changed based on photos in app. Grounds of the property no kept up on. Grille in the back yard can’t be used unless you want to stand in 3 ft grass/weeds. Entry to the house was easy. Inside the house immediately a splatter of blood on the wall next to the light switch, additional blood found on the master bathroom door and in the stair way to upstairs. Water puddle in front of the refrigerator each day. Cob webs in each corner of the walls and down walls, Internet/Wifi does not work it’s not strong enough to carry through the house. We used hotspot on rainy days and evenings powered every tv. Tech came out to address refrigerator didn’t fix it, internet/wifi he said always an issue at this house. We couldn’t use the pantry as it was infested with ants (can be expected in the remote location) but still a pain. Brindlay Beach was fully aware of everything. They did offer to send a maid to clean. We already bleach/sanitized the walls & doors in fact wiped down chairs and counters to be safe. Overall we made the best of it spending every hour we could on the beach. House is very convenient, the sunrise is breath taking and so close to the best places to park on the beach. Horses stroll down the road and camp out on the property. The Beach, Horses, Sunrise and Memories made the issues at the house minimal. We did expect some kind of comp for the inconveniences. But it is what it is. And our memories will last forever."
Semi-oceanfront home on the 4x4 beaches with gorgeous views!

C9703 12 BR 4X4 Oceanfront Luxury Retreat in Carova, Private Pool & Hot Tub - Prices Reduced!!
4/10 Poor
"Home was in a great location with easy beach access and fantastic views. However, several issues included black mold on the mirrors in one bedroom, pool completely unfit for use, some bathrooms did not have any toilet paper at all, no bathrooms had any shampoo or hand soap (and this was not cautioned by the host), the couch showed visible stains (and it's on dark cloth), and the dishware was not clean. The host often took too long to respond (greater than 1-2 hours), so issues could not be resolved during our stay. As great as the location is, I would opt for alternate lodging options in the future."
Gorgeous vacation rental in the secluded area of Carova NC!
8/10 Good
"The property was great. It was a bit more trouble to get there than we originally thought it would be, but the drive is beautiful along the beach. Just be sure you are prepared for beach driving for several miles. Beware that there are a TON of wild horse tours that go by this property daily. We counted 1 or more at least every 10-15 mins from 8-5 just about every day. It gets annoying. If you want to see the wild horses, they were at this property every day. Unfortunately, they prevented us from leaving and returning multiple times. My daughter and grandson were outside and one unexpectedly walked right up to them. We didn't know what to do because of the 50ft rule. Within 30 seconds, a tour came along and the guide was screaming, yelling and taking a video with threats to report them to the sheriff's department. My grandson is 5 years old! It was an awful experience that ruined our trip. Not Sun Realty's fault at all. My point is, we were not prepared for the negative aspects of the horse presence and definitely didn't appreciate the tours. "
