I arrived to the hotel after a late night flight, the first staff member was helpful in getting me checked in. "The cabin was an excellent calming retreat listening to only the sounds of the birds and nature. The steps up to the cabins can be a bit steep (up to 30cm/ 12 inches) but assuming you are there to hike Park Tayrona it's a good warm up for the trails in the park. Breakfast and dinners were excellent and Kevin our front desk person, arranged an early breakfast so we could get to the hikes at break of dawn. "Top notch facility, clean, outstanding views, very gracious staff and 100% secure. I got one of the VIP rooms with 2 beds and baths. Picture perfect sunsets. There is a beautiful view of the city from the rear where the door and walkway are, and there is a small soccer field down below where you can take in all levels of games from 8am-11pm with food and refreshments. I advise to not venture too far back there for your safety, however, but the walled city is just a 15 minute walk or 5 min Uber...

"The hotel is very well located. To my taste I found it very noisy, on sunday morning at 6:00am a very outloud noice (music) was being played. The first night on friday night noise from outside was heard from the room. The hotel has beautiful patios and a swimming pool, nice spa, very good food. The rooms need a face lift, I find the hotel over rated and over price. The staff was incredible though."

"Although the hotel itself was in an ideal location, and very beautiful inside; if you don’t know Spanish, don’t go. It’s very hard understand a lot of you don’t have a personal translator. Our room was okay, but from the first night the AC was not working. We couldn’t enjoy the view because we kept the blinds closed from the heat. After telling them about the AC, we spent a whole day trying to deal with it until they finally agreed to move me to another room which that room…also, the AC unit was not working at this point. I was ready to go home. I was tired of complaining. The pool area is beautiful. Make sure you take a lot of money to exchange. They do not want US dollars. We spent more money than what we spent for airline tickets and hotel. The hotel buffet breakfast was amazing. That’s probably a positive memory of mine. If you like the aesthetic of luxury hotel and to post on social media this place is it but if you need AC in your room or the elevator or anywhere else throughout the hotel, don’t go there. I don’t think I would go back."

"Beautiful resort on a pristine private beach with warm clear ocean water, highly recommended! The room was clean , the bed very comfortable with an ocean view. The food at the 3 restaurants was all delicious and the staff were friendly and attentive. The only downside is the road from Santa Ana to the hotel is very rough for at least 15-20 minutes. Hopefully that will be upgraded soon. A quiet tropical oasis and a highlight of our trip to Cartagena!"
