"Sink blocked in our room, told reception who said someone will come fix when we were out, no one fixed it. Tiny bathroom that could hardly move in. Small lifts that took ages to stop on the floor and no stairs to use unless emergency. Hotel being renovated downstairs so only one small bar area. Won’t be back"

"Room was a good size and was nice and clean (as was the rest of the hotel). The facilities were OK, but the whole hotel feels very tired and dated and not really what I’d expect from a 5 star. The food was fairly standard, no better than the food I’ve had in other 3 and 4 star hotels. Pool looks great in the photos but was extremely busy on our stay. Communication in advance of our visit wasn’t great - I emailed twice to ask a so eventually had to call instead. Parking charges for guests are steep. Not a terrible stay, but not somewhere I’d rush to go back to"

"I was disappointed that on booking the hotel, I messaged 3 times over a couple of days to check about the parking and the response was not received until shortly before we left for our trip and I had already booked alternative parking. I tried phoning but initially Ai tried to deal with my query and then a call center who did not really know the answer to my questions. When we arrived and throughout the stay, everyone was really helpful and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had a very nice evening meal and breakfast. We would be happy to stay here again on our next visit to Bristol."
