We stayed here recently to celebrate a family members birthday with a weekend in Christchurch. There were 7 adults and we booked 9 bedrooms so there were plenty of bedrooms, but the house had a hostel feel. All bedroom doors remain closed and need a code for entry, so it’s necessary to prop them open, but they are very heavy like fire doors. Even the bathroom doors won’t stay propped open and they shut quickly and can hurt if they close quickly on you. The house was cold, which was fine for some of us, but we only really only used the minisplit in the common area on the main floor. The hosts were communicative and we understood that we couldn’t get an early check-in, but were surprised when they showed up prior to checkout time to start cleaning. The location is great, but it wasn’t the warm, comfortable home we were hoping for overall.
