Inglenook Cottage - sleeps 2 guests in 1 bedroom
Inglenook Cottage is the epitome of a chocolate-box cottage, and has indeed featured on postcards, in books and in the press. Brimming with character and situated alongside many other thatched properties in the idyllic village of Broad Campden, Inglenook Cottage is a superb base for visiting central and North Cotswold attractions and villages, as well as picturesque walks directly from the front door.
300 years old, this Grade II listed cottage used to be the village smithy. Inside the cosy sitting room is a huge inglenook fireplace, complete with seat and bread oven where you can snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove. There are countless exposed beams, a stone staircase and ancient wooden floorboards. The property is sympathetically restored with top quality modern appliances, a beautifully fitted wooden kitchen, an inviting bedroom with a king-size bed and a modern shower room. Outside, is a small, sheltered walled courtyard garden with a patio area and garden furniture to enjoy the Cotswold sunshine.
Ideal for a romantic escape, the village pub (The Bakers Arms) can be reached on foot and a very short drive away is Chipping Campden, an historic market wool town, with an abundance of independent shops, restaurants, wine bars and teashops. A little further afield are the popular Cotswolds towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold, Upper and Lower Slaughter, and Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon is just a 30 minute drive away.
Additional Information: Gas central heating. Please note, since photography, the open fire has been replaced with a wood burning stove. Sorry, no children. Infants welcome (travel cot, highchair and stairgate available on request). One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). Some low ceilings and beams and uneven treads on the stone stairs (rope handrail). High speed fibre WiFi. Within walking distance of a pub. Todenham Manor Farm can deliver a box of fresh meat to your cottage for your stay. Please visit click here for more details.
