The COVID-19 outbreak may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't stifled our passion for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to cope with the new challenges of traveling:

• Before you lock in a flight, check if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your origin and destination. Get up-to-date information by checking government websites.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be asked to briefly lower it for ID purposes. Anyone refusing to wear a face mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• Do not hand your boarding pass (electronic or paper) directly to a TSA employee. Instead, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA is now allowing passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag for screening.
• To reduce handling during screening, put items such as your loose change and phone into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA agent to handle and inspect your belongings.

In response to the current pandemic, most airlines have introduced extra steps and measures to help everybody get back in the air. Here are some great examples:

• Delta - this airline is known for electrostatic cleaning and cleaning with disinfectant.
• American Airlines - this airline is known for providing passenger masks and cleaning with disinfectant.
