"Unfortunately this ended up being one of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever stayed at. It was quite disappointing being that we were traveling for both my birthday and our engagement. And it’s not a cheap place either. The room was motel-level for a 4 star price. The room was absolutely filthy — layers of dust, mold, dirty floors. It was very clear that the housekeeping here only changes the bed sheets and doesn’t touch anything else. I ended up bringing it up to guest services and Collette was wonderful and immediately remedied the situation by upgrading us to a much better and cleaner room. (5 stars for the front desk staff) They charge a hefty fee of $90/night to bring our 2 small pups so we had an extra $180 charge for essentially nothing because the rooms are dirtier than anything a dog could ever possibly do. The property itself is adorable and in such a great location. I just wish they would actually clean their rooms properly. There’s a difference between old and just plain dirty. "

"Perfect place for a weekend with friends. The house was very clean and as described. The host was very good with communicating with us and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. "

"Beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast consisted of 3 choices, coffee, donuts, yogurt, 2 choices of fruit, toast. No walk to restaurants of any kind. Bathroom was clean. Overall it was average and no real complaints "

"What a perfect guest house! The pictures perfectly showed all the accommodations.The host was very receptive to our increasing our stay and got back to us immediately.When we arrived, parking on the left side of the driveway was very convenient and close to the stairs leading up to the back entrance. We had a fully functioning kitchen with a full-size stove and refrigerator. Air conditioning was located in the living room and worked perfectly.Bedroom was comfortable and had a dresser and closet with lots of space and storage.The guest house was also centrally located to so many of the things we wanted to do especially on Bay Street. Bay Street has a fantastic selection of restaurants, shops, and things to do. Favorite restaurants on Bay Street were Plum's and Panini's. Favorite shops were the Thibault Gallery and the Beaufort River Glass. Favorite ice cream shop was Southern Sweets Ice Cream & Market.For tours we used the Beaufort City Tour that met at the Kelly office on Bay Street. Fabulous tour guide with great knowledge of the city. Well worth it.The Maritime Center (Port Royal Sound Foundation) was also well worth the visit.And our favorite restaurant was Madison's on 10th Avenue in Port Royal. 90% gluten-free options were absolutely great for me.Our time went by quickly and we didn't want our vacation to end. That's how you know it was a great time!"

"Nice condo overlooking the waterway. Clean, comfortable and close to everything. Sandra is top-notch. Nice kitchen and good bed. Everything good, and I was there for 5 nights. "

"Perfect. Better than we imagined. Sit on the pier; walk on the sidewalks through the neighborhood; enjoy the spacious unit with its great decor. Stairs are steep, but make for good exercise to get up into a magical treehouse-like place. Utterly safe. A gift to the guests lucky enough to stay at this exceptional property."

"Our stay at Live Oak Cottage was wonderful. The cottage had a delightful decor that was filled with comfort. We felt like it was our home. Barbara and Steve were also delightful, very communicative and available. They left no detail out from the very well stocked kitchen with every piece of equipment you would need as well as many spices. Beaufort and the surrounding area provides many beautiful parks and nature trails along with an adorable city offering an array of great restaurants and shopping, all very near by. We loved this cottage and the area. We plan to be back soon! "
