"Lovely hotel. Beautiful setting with an amazing view. The reviews we read before we stayed, said the staff were wonderful and friendly. Reviews often say this about hotels and we were just expecting the usual professional staff. However it must be said the staff were superb, stood out and had a major positive impact on our stay making it so enjoyable. The evening dinner very good. The breakfasts excellent. Definitely a place to stay."

"The cottage was traditional and quaint. The views from the windows were outstanding. The rooms were large and comfy. The only faults were the towels and bedding could do with renewing, and the on site parking is via an extremely tight access. Definitely would recommend to large groups as a great base for exploring the dales."

"We love Lilac Cottage, been here about 5 times and never fails to disappoint. Nothing immediate in the way of a shop in Sedbusk but that suits us as we like to walk into Hawes or to the Green Dragon for a pint at Hardraw. Sedbusk is just such a beautiful peaceful hamlet. The cottage is very old but homely, but has everything you need but don't expect a palace. Biggest compliment it that we keep returning."

"Cosy, comfortable and well-equipped cottage. Great location and walks on your door step.Only negative would be all the cupboards were full so nowhere to put your shopping/food unless you moved things to make space, and would benefit from some new chopping knives. Specs of rust and blunt.Would recommend and would stay again."
