"Ease of parking, excellent dinner, lovely staff and a spacious room made for yet another extremely pleasant stay. Vanessa and the other dining room staff coped admirably with the additional presence of a very large number of cyclists and support teams on the first night that were involved in a high profile race."

"We've been coming to the Lake District since 2021 to do the Wainwrights. So we've chosen 9 locations all over from Gosforth, Cockermouth, Norton etc. I can honestly say that The Duck House is the best self catering property we have experienced, by far. It provides everything that you could possibly want, it is so well equipped and is in a very good location. Parking is no problem, and the Village Shop is a delight and so close."

"A great stay, staff extremely helpful and freindly. We arrived with a 6 week old baby and hotel did everything possible to accomodate us. Breakfast was great, in general very enjoyable. Evening meal was very enjoyable though a little on the expensive side tbh. Overall would highly reccommend."

"Had a fantastic stay at Brandlehow. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views over Derwentwater and direct access to the lake. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing family break. We especially loved spending time in the garden taking in the incredible scenery. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District."
