The New Dungeon Ghyll is a very authentic Hotel in a very scenic environment, in a beautiful valley, close to many walks. We stayed in the New Dungeon for a weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. Everything was very good: staff was friendly, our room was comfortable, quiet, spacious and well equipped. The bathroom was big, clean and had a good shower. The bed was big and comfortable. The breakfast room was nice and welcoming. Breakfast was very good and included full English breakfast next to other options.

A well equipped hotel. Very clean with comfortable beds. The restaurant was lovely with a good choice on the menu and all at very reasonable prices. The setting is beautiful with the hills around and the well kept gardens. I would highly recommend this hotel. Also , all the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had a perfect stay. Thank you.

Great base for walking in Langdale, you go straight out of the back door and up to Stickle Tarn. Excellent breakfast with good choices, a good selection for the evening meal and the Old DG hotel 15 minutes walk away if you fancy a change. Nice lounge for the wet days. 100% recommend

We much enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Fantastic location and great walks from the door. Also not as busy as many other parts of The Lakes. Hotel was very comfortable and staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and we ate in the hotel a couple of nights. Food was very good though menu a little restrictive if you were staying more than two or three nights intended to eat in the hotel throughout your stay. We’d definitely return.

I stayed in the garden room, which opens straight out onto the garden. The space is spacious, spotlessly clean and really cosy. I had a wonderful experience and would happily book it again.

3 nights in late July. Hotel is a great place to stay to experience the Lake District, not far from Ambleside but remote enough to feel like you are really in nature. Staff and breakfast were excellent. Walk up to Stickle Tarn was a good test with a couple of scrambly bits but well worth it once you got there.

Another amazing break in Langdale. The New Dungeon Ghyll has had a refurbishment since our last stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great, the room was clean and spacious. We've booked another two stays there for this year and next year. Can't wait to go back.

A lively Lakeland hotel with great prospects and a good feel . Fabulous Langdale views, clean bedrooms and helpful staff. The food was perfect and I would recommend the chicken and mushroom pie, really good. The new owners have more to do in making improvements to decor and this is underway but we loved it and will return.
