Buena Park is a small city packed with attractions. It is known as the “Center of the Southland,” referring to its central location in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Head to Knott’s Berry Farm theme park or watch a famous medieval show inside a replica castle. Several other attractions are located in the Beach Boulevard region of the city, including a pirate show and a water park.
Explore the 160-acre (65-hectare) amusement park, Knott’s Berry Farm. The park, which contains about 40 rides, is one of the most visited theme parks in the United States. It takes its name from the berry farm that used to be located on the same site.
Walk around the Ghost Town area to see demonstrations of old practices from the Midwest. Blacksmith, woodcarver and merchant stalls are on display, manned by artisans in period dress. Experience an exciting ride on the Western-themed Silver Bullet roller coaster or the Ghost Rider, one of the longest wooden roller coasters on the West Coast.
Enjoy the Mexican theme in Fiesta Village or try the park’s most thrilling rides at the Boardwalk. Take the kids to Camp Snoopy, based on the famous Peanuts character. Head to the sister park, Knott’s Soak City, a water park full of slides and pools.
Dine at the Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament show at Buena Park Castle. The building is a replica of an 11th-century castle. Watch games with simulated fighting and jousting by a cast of actors and horses.
Take the family to the Pirate’s Dinner Adventure, a show set on the replica of an 18th-century Spanish ship. Watch the performers engage in acrobatics and swordplay and cheer on your own pirate mascot.
Buena Park is a 30-minute drive from downtown Los Angeles. It is also accessible by bus and metro services. For even more theme park fun, go to Disneyland® Resort in Anaheim, only a 10-minute drive away.
