We received a really warm welcome with complimentary tea and cake. There was free reserved parking. It was a very pretty room with outdoor seating and a lovely breakfast. All the communal spaces are very tastefully designed. Would definitely return.

The property and staff fantastic. Breakfast perfect. Great location. Doggy rooms great with outside space and table and chairs. Would recommend. The only thing I say was I thought the price of £25 per night was a bit steep. Always paid extra for dogs at hotels but never this much. Even the big hotels in the area only charge £20 per night. ?

Definitely a bit different to other hotels we have stayed in, possibly best described as quirky. Loved the use of wood throughout & our somewhat alternative four poster bed. Our room was spacious, with 2 comfortable chairs. Very clean & well presented. Thoughtful use of plants & small seating areas outside: we had a sheltered little patio. Good choice at breakfast, although having to decide on arrival some of what we would like for the 2 days felt like a bit of a challenge. Could understand the logistics as to why they do this when we went for our first breakfast, which was a little bit chaotic. However all went much more smoothly on our 2nd day. We certainly haven’t ruled out returning in the future!

The wife and I stayed here for 2 nights for a short break in the New Forest. The hotel was great, our room was light and airy. Although a little warm because of the heat wave we were able to open windows on both sides that brought in a draft in the evening which quickly cooled the room down, that and use of the excellent shower meant that we coped easily. Each room also has a small allocated outdoor space which was particularly welcome during the hot weather and we enjoyed some fish and chips on our little patio. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast was of a decent quality. It's also really handy for walking to Brockenhurst station - all adding up to a great short break. Would definitely recommend

Nice welcome and easy parking with named spot which was a nice touch and easy walk to the village and several pubs. Great breakfast, nice room and comfy bed. Side gate lock challenging to open and also hard to open the bathroom door to get in - was worried I might get locked in but actually easy to open from the inside. Maybe worth getting someone to look at both locks.

Excellent stay at Cottage Lodge

Had a great stay in a beautiful room. Was made so welcome with coffee and cake on arrival and my name of a parking space. Breakfast was excellent. I will definitely use the hotel next time I'm in the New Forest. My only complaint - I wasn't there long enough.

This is a lovely place to stay and in a fabulous location. The personalised parking space is a really nice touch and the food was very good indeed. Staff were polite and helpful and the owner very professional and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.
